so, I just watched the gameplay trailer in 4K!

and...........yeah..........:drl:

and it's obviously PS4 footage, but I wonder if that was just regular PS4 or if it was running on the Pro.

if it looks this good on regular PS4.........well.........

I mean, at this point, I don't think we've actually seen a radical visual upgrade from regular to Pro. It'll look better on the Pro, but it's not going to be that off from the regular.

^ I agree, Tron. I didn't notice that much of a difference, either, with the current enhanced games on the Pro.

but I'm hoping the games that come out starting next year will start having more noticeable visual upgrades.

and, going by this new trailer, ME already looks pretty darn good on whatever PS4 they were running. So, if that's running on the original PS4, then I'm hoping the Pro will look even better. ;)

This looks so damn good, but I'm getting worried I might need to upgrade my PC for this.

so, judging from the gameplay vid, it looks like we can only access 3 skills (L2, R2, L2+R2)?

I'm hoping we can map skills to other buttons, or you hold down a button to swap to a different set of skills ( like in Dragon Age ).

quick access to 3 skills seems kind of limiting.......

More gameplay? Now this is more like it.

hope we get to see new abilities.

would also like a peek at the Character Creator system. hope face codes return, because that was very helpful in the prior games.

I am going to gamestop to preorder it tomorrow.

March 21 2017 yes!!

This is a pleasant surprise. If they delay it now, it would be so weird.

Yeah no need to announce the date at this point if there were still issues that had a fair chance at causing a delay. With everyone on the internet so seemingly convinced that this would be delayed I'd put thoughts of it on the backburner and had planned to play other stuff instead in the next few months (bought loads of new games in the sale in the end) but they will all gladly get sacrificed for this one. :woot:

March 21! Nice!!!

Hope it doesn't turn out to be a disappointment like DAI did. c'mon Bioware!!

Alrighty for those that haven't caught up yet. here's the details

Mass Effect: Andromeda will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on March 21, 2017 in North America and March 23 in EUrope, Electronic Arts and BioWare announced.

Find a message from BioWare general manager Aaryn Flynn below.

On behalf of our teams across Montreal, Edmonton and Austin, I’m excited to announce that Mass Effect: Andromeda will be launching in North America on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 and beginning Thursday, March 23, 2017 in Europe. We appreciate your patience (and in fact, even your lack of patience in some instances) as we’ve been focused on completing the game. Here’s a little bit of context into how we’ve gotten here.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is our most ambitious Mass Effect game to date. We’re telling completely new stories, creating new characters, new planets, new species, and introducing new gameplay systems. And for the first time, we’re bringing Mass Effect to the Frostbite game engine, an incredible engine that’s delivering a tremendous graphical jump from the trilogy to Mass Effect: Andromeda. To deliver on this, we’re taking all the time we can to make sure you’re getting the best possible experience.

Over this holiday break, developers at BioWare took home a version of the game in what we call the “holiday build”. This is a longstanding studio tradition that goes back to the early days of the original Mass Effect.

Many load up a PC or console and go home to play as much as possible at their leisure. Coming back from holiday, the feedback has been great. Getting the endorsement from members of our studio, many of whom played key roles on the original trilogy, was definitely a key factor in helping us lock in on the date.

Even more exciting for us over the last couple of months has been seeing the excitement build in the community as we’ve started to share more about the game. The passion you have for the franchise continues to drive us. And now, we’re just a couple of months away from delivering a brand new Mass Effect experience to you for the first time in five years – richer, deeper and ready for exploration. We’re excited about how far we are going with the franchise, and we hope you find it’s been worth the wait.
See you in Andromeda,

Aaryn

I'm honestly shocked it's supposed to come out in March. A fall release window seemed obvious.

went to gamestop today and preordered ME:A.... guy asked if i wanted the big colllectors edition... i said 'no they don't come with the game'... he said 'excuse me?'... so i repeated myself... "are you ****ing joking? I just paid for it in full an hour ago"

.... I found way too much joy in that than I should have.
