Gameplay looks great, love the idea of being able to mix and match abilitie trees. Gonna be a solider mixed with biotic abilities. I hope we can further customize guns.

I'll mix and match like a Sentinel with biotic and a bit of tech.

I just noticed in the first game play reveal, the player is using the N7 Piranha. Which is awesome to me, I loved the N7 weapons. I hope all of them return.

I wonder if melee weapons are a separate class of weapons now and if it's possible to build a pure melee oriented character.

probably not due to the cover/shooter mechanics.

but I'd love to be a dual blade wielding biotic badass.

That would be pretty cool. But I doubt it will come to that. You can see the player using a sword in the first gameplay video. But to me, it looks like a melee button type attack.
