EA The Official Mass Effect Thread - Part 2

I would argue the worse news is the loss of incredible Bioware talent. Many of the people they fired were senior Bioware creatives (because they had higher salaries). Loads of longterm Bioware staff were let go, including Mary Kirby (Creator of Varrick, who worked on every single DA game) and Luke Kristjanson was was there since Baldurs Gate 1. Such a bloody waste, and once experience is lost its very hard to get back. Demoralising for the other staff too. I'd rather a year delay to both games over a loss of talent like that.
All round disaster to what was one of my favourite studios. :csad: :csad:

It's stuff like this that makes it almost impossible for me to give a **** about anything EA does.
Getting bought out by EA is too often an eventual death knell for many good creatives. I’m pissed about Bioware and Westwood in particular.

It is sad what is happening to the studio. I still remember playing Mass Effect 1 2 and 3 back to back this year, and I kinda want to play another Mass Effect game again. Its crazy to think those 3 games were originally released more than 10 years ago now. I watched some clips from Starfield today, and I was instantly reminded of Mass Effect.

If Mass Effect 5 ever gets released. I would be surprised if its not a disappointment like Andromeda. Time will tell. Some of these games take too long to be released and those games usually disappoint when they finally arrive.

Very sad to see what’s happened to one of my favourite series/studios. I was hoping Mass Effect would be a title that released every few years for good. :csad:

In the last 10 years, we only got Andromeda and it's been long siX years since that game came out.

I remember discussions I had with friends from ME multiplayer on 3. I was hoping for another big trilogy in the PS4/X1 gen every bit as good as the original trilogy but with a much better ending. Funny how GAAS games became so huge and yet ME multiplayer which I loved was one of the only games of that type I’d consider spending money on and would be happy to keep up with for years. A coop campaign or some coop campaign DLCs might have been fun too given the game rolls out with a squad anyway. Instead we got one game that didn’t go anywhere and that was it. The Anthem experiment didn’t work and was the beginning of the end for BioWare.

Given how popular Mass Effect was. There should have been a trilogy for the ps4/X1 era, if not a 5th Mass Effect game by now.

I think with whats happening right now, we'd be lucky to see a ME game for the PS5/SX before PS6 is launched.

Anthem (from the videos I saw) looked good but multiplayer and bad reviews didn't make want to check it out. It was one of the cheapest ps4 games I've seen in my local store. I think it was on sale on for about $14. Usually older games are around $18 to $20.

Is that Liara?? The helmet shape makes me think that. Maybe I'm crazy lol.

Either way, I wish there was more to the trailer than that. But something is better than nothing!

The neXt game better have crazy wild club. Like a club where you dance and literally float in the bar, while dancing and drinkin'. That kind of an alien world club.

I'm still not convinced this will ever be released.

Unless the studio closes, there won't be a new game.

But the studio is only working on 2 games that we know of, right.now. This is the 2nd one. It would probably take many years from now before its released, but I don't see it being abandoned for another game that isn't confirmed/announced yet.

The collection of all three games with all the dlc is on sale on steam for 10 bucks. Best 10 bucks you'll ever spend.

Jeff Grubb says ME5 is so far away (2029).

The Legendary edition? I got it when it was given for free for Prime subscribers.

Would likely be next gen then. A long time to wait given it's already been 6 years since the last game.

By checking Billie Eilish's Wikipedia page which led me to her mom's Wikipedia page.
