Make It Right - "Sword":

The only complaint I still have about Raiden is his hair. It's a nitpick I know but it's just too "anime" for me. I wish he had a full helmet ala Grey Fox.

Good video, Solidus had some pretty great lines here. More and more I'm liking what they're doing with the character.

Solidus? Oh boy they brought him back to life?

That was obviously a snippet from his past. When Jack was taught by Solidus and turned into Jack the Ripper.

Yeah that was a flashback, though I wouldn't put it past anyone to bring him back even after all the crap that happened to his corpse in MGS4.

I've spent an age typing in the most cryptic **** into that Rising site but no luck. George Sears, laleloueli-- whatever, none of it works. Exciting that Crying Wolf will be in the game (also interesting that she was featured in a tease for the original Rising); hopefully we see the others too.

Konami's said the next reveal on it will be at their Pre-E3 conference which I'm betting will, like last year, hit on the Friday before the show. So that's two weeks today?

No, there's no coming back for him. He was well and truly disposed of in MGS4 (the Big Boss decoy body). It's shame though since he was a great character (I feel the same about Liquid as well).

To be fair, Big Boss was well and truly disposed of... twice.

Haven't played the first two MG games, but wasn't Big Boss literally a corpse in MGS1? I actually even forgot how he came back in MGS4.

They used pieces of Liquid and Solidus to rebuild him.

No, really, they did.

Good idea; by the time you've finished watching the cutscenes Rising should be out!

Woah. Solidus is one sick twisted ****. Considerably more so than his "father" or "brothers" anyhow. It would be interesting to see how he developed from this to the somewhat noble demon of MGS2.

Solidus is definitely a mean bastard, but Liquid is absolutely bat**** insane.

I loved Solidus and I still think there should have been a game set in between Sons of Liberty and Guns of the Patriots that would essentially be Solidus vs Liquid with Snake and Raiden caught in the middle.

However, they seem to be giving Solidus a bit of backstory here, so maybe he can be well utilised.

Just wondering, but would anybody want to have references to Snake, Otacon and Campbell etc in Rising?

Haha, yep. I've typed in every Metal Gear thing I could think of that has to do with Raiden to no avail.

:hehe:

I agree, there should have been a game set between those two, and not a spinoff, but a real Metal Gear Solid game. It would have been cool if you could choose to play as Snake or Raiden.

Anyway, on one of the KojiPro podcasts, they said that if Rising does well, they're considering recycling some of the plot of the original version of Rising in a sequel.

Just wondering, but would anybody want to have references to Snake, Otacon and Campbell etc in Rising?

Sure, as long as such references have substance and aren't overly fanservicey.

If comic books and videos games taught me anything its that anyone, at any time, can return to life.

More so in the Metal Gear Universe..

Nanomachines.

Why is Jack so... old in that video? He was a child soldier under Solidus' regime.
That's not Jack. :p

Solidus is torturing the guy in front of Jack/Raiden. All we see of Raiden is his arms towards the end.

Replaying Sons of Liberty.......man did Solidus get shafted, the guy had huge potential that they never really did much with. It's a damn shame.

I always thought Solidus was more detestable.

Liquid came off as a brat who wanted to be better than his brother, and was hung up on being weaker than him even though he was genetically superior. Yeah, he was a dick.

But, Solidus brainwashing and using children as soldiers was just ****ed up in so many ways. I remember it being mentioned in MGS2 how he would have gunpowder poured into their food to **** with their minds.

Solidus is definitely a monster and he even admits as much to Jack at the end, but I think there's almost a nobility to him because of his goals, his ideals are really more about the betterment and liberation of the world, yet at the same time he's perfectly ok with killing millions to achieve that.

Really one of the great things about this series is how well Kojima handled the villains. Can MGS5 get here any faster?
