This game looks incredibly, beautifully awesome. The slicing mechanic looks great.

When they said that his family was murdered were they referring to Jack's parents or was it referring to Rosemary and little Jack?

his parents and his sister. killing his immediate family might drive him off the deep end, as it would/ some might say should most people.

Oh ok good. I thought it would have been overkill having Rosemary and Little Jack get murdered too. That would just be way too much for my taste. Give Raiden some semblance of happiness as Snake promised.

I would havewent off after my sister bite it. well he did kinda get his vengeance then already. but I think i would have taken my time wiht the main villain in MG2. well he's supposed to be hero and all. But that was kinda overkill in way too she was a kid after all . Well depends on how you look at it. I guess.

This trailer is vastly superior to the previous one. I'm glad they kept some of the hunter type killings that were seen in the (2010?) trailer.

The graphics look quite lovely.
I'm guessing that Raiden starts off with that human appearance at the start when serving as a body guard to that African politician, cyborg bastards get involved, kill the politician badly damage Jack's body where he's re-built with his new cyborg form going on a bloody journey of revenge....or as Kojima puts it "Revengence."

It appears as if Raiden will appear primarily in his MGS4 body, before being damaged by the "Vamp-a-like" and then gets his body and eye upgrade.

Anyone else wondering if Snake is dead by now if the game takes place 9 years later?

I doubt they mention it either way.
I'm thinking that Raiden may even be the only character from the previous games to feature in the current storyline, with heavy flashbacks featuring Solidus.

Even if they don't mention it, I bet Snake is long dead. Would be surprised if he lived an additional month after the events of MGS4.

I'm predicting Snake's status will be revealed in a traditional over-the-credits phone call scene.
