Days of Future Past The Official Nicholas Hoult/Beast Thread

I really liked Hoult as Beast. Do we think that they'll mention the Beast/Mystique thing from FC at all, I hope it's brought up at least once.

i'm thinking that subplot from FC will continue in some form in DOFP in the 70s stuff

That would be good. They spent more time on that than I thought they would, so it would be a shame if they just dropped it and never even brought it up.

I wouldn't be surprised if Beast/Mystique is brought back as the main romantic subplot of the movie. I could live without any romance at all, but since it seems to be the rule that all CBMs must have some kind of luuuurve story I can't really see many other candidates. There's Magneto/Mystique I guess, but I kinda find it hard to imagine their relationship as a romance. Maybe more like casual sex between a general and his loyal henchwoman

I always got the sense that Magneto/Mystique were romantically involved even in the OT, they certainly implied it. Maybe Mystique is Pietro's mother (Erik hasn't shown any real attachment to women other than her). We don't have to have a Beast/Mystique romance, just acknowledge their bond and that they still care about each other, maybe simply as friends.

pietro would be about 10 years old in that case, and thats at the very least, its set 10 years after First class when she went with magneto, and pietro is only in the 70s stuff

Nicholas Hoult on Beast

Caring for Xavier is Hoult's Hank a.k.a. Beast. While on set, the actor isn't under his signature blue-hued fur, the result of serum that keeps the Hyde stowed away inside his Dr. Jekyll. "When he transforms into Beast in public… he's ashamed of it," Hoult said. "He doesn't want people staring and pointing fingers. He's not comfortable." But as we've seen from set pictures of Beast duking it out with Magneto, Hoult spent significant portions of the shoot in the makeup chair. And he's okay with the three and a half hour process of applying Beast makeup. It allows him to let loose. "You can perform big. You can roar at people! If I roar at someone like this, it's funny. If I roar at someone in that, it's scary."

So it's a bit more "visceral" version of the image inducer, requiring a "transformation". That's not a bad idea, actually. Wonder if the serum has anything to do with his less animalistic appearance. Probably.

For sure his serum changes him to human form for some time, but also approaches him to human look when he back to beast form. That's why he looks like beast ape, not cat version 30 years later.
