Awesome :wow:

James' eyes are like sapphires... :atp:

:funny:

the concept is great, but the use of the shoots is horrible, too many colours, powers, some faces manipped....

bad work from marketing team

Awesome Pics, Thanks again Mercury!

^ Oh, I love the close up picture of James...haven't seen this before! :hrt:

Even though it would mess up continuity even more...how I wish Raven had stayed with Charles and the X-Men. Her leaving him was even worse than Erik leaving him. :csad:

I wish Charles had not been shot and both Raven and Erik had stayed with the group. One more movie with the whole gang together would've been awesome.

Same here, but alas it was not meant to be. :csad:

I don't know--Erik's fall to the "dark-side" really makes the movie. And Charles getting shot, plus losing all the characters he really connects with, leaves his character open to develop into the Professor we see in XM1 and XM2.

I will be really disappointed if they skip ahead several years and forget all the crap that has to go on for Charles' character to come full circle. He has to be totally messed up in the next movie. And Erik has to fall deeper into his own darkness while Charles "finds the light again" as it were.

It will probably be a pretty dark movie, really.

All right, I'm gonna go super-girly here and just say James McAvoy is such a cutie. :hrt: The fact that the boy actually has serious acting chops really adds to his appeal.

All this could've happened at the end of the second movie. :oldrazz:

Me too. I loathed the idea - I think it was Singer's - of having XFC2 take place in the 70s and XFC3 in the 80s. The sequel must pick up where XFC left off.

All this could've happened in the third movie, and we would've had a second movie with Erik and Raven with Charles. :oldrazz:

I'll argue that if they didn't have the characters develop in the first movie, then no one would care about them for any sequels.

Just because Charles is in a wheelchair doesn't put him out of the game (in fact, it could strengthen his character) and the turmoil created in XMFC to both him and Erik over what happened on the beach is pure story-telling gold (Erik accidentally shooting his best friend in the back is something HE has to live with, too). If I were writing the sequel to this, I'd be giddy. :woot:

I really hope they don't skip ahead and make XFC2 in the 70's--what a waste of a great story-line. I'd call that downright stupid.

He is, isn't he? :atp: I'm super-girly all the time as far as James is concerned, and I don't even care! :woot:
And he's such a brilliant actor to boot. How he manages to be so perfect, I don't know. :awesome:

You know, James' last interview - at the Graham Norton show (scroll down to see the videos) - got me a bit worried. He wasn't really complaining, but kind of said "my character wasn't allowed to do much, power-wise, and it'll be even worse in the sequel". Maybe he's thinking about Vaughn's "now that Charles is in a wheelchair (useless? :cmad:) we have to find a new nemesis for Magneto"? I just hope he's wrong. Next movie should be Charles' movie, damn it. :csad:

I seriously want Beast to design a hover-chair in the sequel so Charles can be in the action.

I think in that interview James was referring to his powers not being really dynamic or visual - I think I've seen him jokingly describe his powers as "boring" in another interview because he can't do stuff like flying or shooting lasers or bending metal - he just puts a finger to his head and looks really intense ;)

And to be fair Charles can't really be Magneto's nemesis in a physical fight (and action scenes are a major component of a comic book movie) - even when he's not in a wheelchair their respective powers just aren't matched up that way.

I think it would be a shame if the sequel totally glossed over Charles' new life in a wheelchair, but at the same time I'm not expecting the movie to spend too much time on it. Exploring a character's inner struggle of adjusting to a life after paralysis is just not the kind of stuff that drives a comic book movie.

Oh yeah and I'll join the girliness and say that James McAvoy is utterly adorable :):hrt:

I saw the vid; he's half-joking as well, and does raise a good point about his powers. But that's not anyone's fault; Charles is a telepath and his powers just aren't that visual. In fact, I'm impressed with how visual they were able to make his abilities in XM:FC (I loved the deep look of focus and then the camera zooms away towards the telepathic target; that was actually pretty cool).

He didn't say it would get worse in the next film--just that it won't get better. And it can't because that's his power. After all the reviews for XM:FC said that the thing that really made the movie work was Charles and Erik's relationship, I doubt that Vaughn would take the stupid road and not bring both characters back full-force. Or else the movie will blow.

Yeah, they should give some attention to Charles dealing with his paralysis. I'm not talking about going "Born on the Fourth of July" on it, but if they can show Erik dealing with the death of his mother in the first movie, they can put in some time to show Charles struggling with his disability. The feelings that arise from both losses are quite actually similar and anything else would be an injustice to what his character's going through.

And yes--please join the girly-girls as we ogle over poor James. :woot:

Actually, I'm hoping they stick to traditional stuff here. Add too much sci-fi and it can dampen the human aspect of the movie. I liked his motorized wheelchair in XM1; it seemed to fit him right.

A lot of people also said that Bondneto made the movie for them, and Vaughn seems to believe it too... :csad:

I don't know, I don't want to be too optimistic, especially now that they hired Kinberg - well, Charles was killed in The Last Stand, so it's not great news for the sequel. Vaughn was already insinuating that Charles would be relegated to the background with his "now that he's in a wheelchair" comment. There are ways telepathy can be shown as visually interesting in a film, I'm sure. But the true fact was that neither the writers nor the director were as interested in Charles as they were in Magneto. That's the reality.

James seems to be joking with his "my boring powers" comment, but I guess it's just his way of exposing a situation he's not really happy with. After all, it was not Erik's solo "nazi hunter" scene that was cut, it was his "telepathic battle" one. I believe he's already predicting he won't be able to explore the character as much as he wanted to. I just hope he's wrong, and I hope I'm wrong, but... :csad:
