does anyone know if theres any news about another movie?
I hope they make another one, the movies had alot of action and were great.Right now Disney is considering the idea of a fourth film.
In other words, they're seeing where they want to take the fourth film.

A fourth film will probably be released in 2010.
probably won't be the same without Keira and Orli but I think their story has ended with a closure so Im happy with the three films I got.
I think LOTR, Spider-Man even with the less than stellar 3rd, and even the Potter are better franchises imo.

I could say the same thing about Pirates. I've only watched each one, once in the theater. Even if it's on tv, I pass right over it. While you can argue, Pirate's success gross wise, LOTR has the gross, critical acclaim as well as the Oscars and recently induction in the AFI 100 Movies.I cannot just watch the LOTR movies, no matter how 'great' a movie is, if i deem it unwatchable for any reason (i.e. bordem) I can't in all honesty say it is better than a movie I can't take my eyes off, same goes with Citizen Kane, it may have influenced a billion directors, but you couldn't pay me to watch that movie in its entirity
Same thing could be said about Pirates. It's not Spider-Man.Spider-man is awesome, I really like the 3rd, but it just isn't pirates
You are also talking about a franchise that got kids to read and it's looking to have it's own amusement park. That's something. Yes, Pirates is successful but Potter is looking to have the longer staying power just by shear number of movies.now Harry Potter, I need to wait and see how the final two installments are treated but you never know, I especially think the last three movies have been just as good as DMC, or AWE, none of them have been better than Curse yet imo, but if we are only in the 5th installment and we get a sick wizard fight like that I can't wait to see what DH has instore

I hope they make another one cause another movie means another game and the AWE game was awesome.A fourth film will probably be released in 2010.
Pirates seems to be slowing down, it won't be making a billion but 915-925 million is still great.I was moreso talking about my own opinion cause thats what I thought you where doing before....and didn't happen to say anything to the point of cultural aspects of the trilogy
but if this hits a billion it will have to be viewed as more popular than LOTR i would think, two movies that made a billion, and the third faced insane competition through and through

However, looking at boxofficemojo.com, LOTR movies made 2.9 billion worldwide and if even if you add .925 billion to Pirate's other 2 movies, you only get 2.65 billion.

Box office isn't really the only factor to consider, The Mummy movies raked in a ****load of cash, but they're widely regarded as trash.
Alot of people may have seen the Pirate sequels, but it seems like alot of hated them since they're bashed on a regular basis (which I'm yet to understand, since I found the first film mediocre but loved both sequels).
lol, this brings back good memories.
Longshot is back...
the mummy makes enough money to suggest that people thought the concept was cool and alot of people went to it once and not again
Pirates have pretty much made twice as much per movie
