Why do people just assume POTC sequels will turn out to be Matrix sequels? Hm?

Perhaps they'll turn out to be Back to the Future sequels or Star Wars sequels or Raiders of the Lost Ark sequels. Just because the Wachowskwi Brothers screwed up their movies doesn't mean Gore Verbenski and Terri and Ted will mess up these movies though.

I read the book. The sequel surpasses the original.

The cliffhanger at the end of this movie is comparable to Reloaded or Halo 2. It's gonna be nuts!

Jack's fate was well explained in the first movie: "Sorry, friend, you have no manner of luck at all."

Which is worrying me as well. Starting to film the third film without a finished script? What if it needed another draft or something?

Might be wrong- but what other film jumped the gun this far in advance (shooting with no finished script)? Personally has me worried-

I don't think any of the third installments mentioned, even those filmed back to back, filmed without a finished script- and it probably just doesn't mean script changes made in dialouge and such on the day of filming (because, this is typical in Hollywood), but actually a not finished script.... for me, that's enough to worry.

If you have more details on the phrasing of: "Started filming without a finished script.": actually means, please share what you know.....

As a Pirates fan, last thing I want is for the third film to be rushed- which sounds like "started filming without a finished script" sounds like. Weren't ready- but Disney was looking for a 'quick buck' which usually amounts to X3 type movies- not enough time= not great 3rd movie. Hopefully I'm wrong.... if you know more about this- please share ASAP.

The entire Star Wars prequel trilogy - each Episode was filmed before the scripts were finished. They may have done big box office but the stories were crap.

Just found out from Tinas_Girl that that the script wasn't completey finished (in terms of revisions)- but, the writer's did have a layout of what they wanted to do-beginning, middle, and end. The filming that took place was also the scenes that would need to get done, in some location, as the second film. The writers did do a lot of revisions on PotC3 as they filmed. The story was complete, the script was still being completed (even though the outline of the film was completed)

Agreed, but not in numbers. I also admit that they were not better than 1st film, that is why I dont want the same with POTC2 and 3.

But it looks like POTC2 will not be better than 1st movie as movie and in box office.

That is why I hope 3rd will be better.

I don't understand all the negativity towards POTC 2. The story is great, the action is great, and the cliffhanger is great. It's as good, if not better, than POTC.

I see this as a great paradox to the liking of Halo 2. The reviews were great and everything, but as soon as people hit the ending they were like "Oh, this is crap!" Then the nitpicking came out and everything else. But it still ended up reigning as a modern day classic.

Well, some ppl have already read this novel and someone wrote spoilers.

So I read them and... I was really disappointed with dialogues, they were bad. The same I can say about the ending and only 2 action sequences, which doesn't work well.

I was expecting the epic battle between Jack and Davy Jones, but there even wasn't one.
