The Dark Knight The Official Plot holes thread.

The biggest plothole. How did Maroni only notice Two-Face was in the car after it was going 35 mph down the highway??

He obviously wasn't in the car before either, as Maroni's bodyguards let him in.

Something must be sloppily missing, or it's a plot hole.
Them painkillers for the legs just really mess with your head.

Joker ordered 300 packages of bio hazardous material to be shipped to the hospital. The Hospital naturally unable to sent it back right away stored it away. (the packages contain gasoline or some other crazy stuff)
Joker then gets tons of dead bodies and crams them full of dynamite and leaves them in the morgue. Joker then has 20 goons wired with bombs unknowingly. Joker leaves presses the button and bam.

There are so many possibilities how he could have done it. Trying to dissect it is just pointless as there is no reason to.

Where did you find that info???

I made it up. There is no answer to your question because it was not addressed in the movie.

It is one of those things that just happens, there are way too many ways he is able to make a hospital blow up and asking for how he did it is just time consuming and not necessary.

Its extremely necessary to me hence me asking the question.. its a part of the movie that should be explained... just like the pile of money burning near the end came from the bank robbery at the beginning.. if the pile of burning money was just thrown on screen near the end people would wonder where the money came from... a whole hospital being completely demolished in a series of explosions in a movie needs some explanation i would think

So you want the movie to spell out everything for you?

Your questions are like trying to figure out what kind of engine the Bat pod had, and if it really had the power to do what it did. There is no reason for it.

Also the burning money was Laus group money from the joint mob bosses.

Tryin to figure out the engine on something and trying to find out how a major character blew up a whole hospital are the same LOL... I suppose if the joker demolished 5 skyscrapers in the middle of Gotham City there would be no need for a explanation for that either???

That was actually the only one that really bothered me. You would assume the driver would notice Harvey jump into the car and do something about it, and you would also assume Maroni would notice immediately that there is someone else in the car. I suppose it's possible that Harvey stopped the driver of Maroni's car prior to that scene, and held the guy hostage, but then you have Maroni's bodyguards that were also there that apparently didn't notice Harvey either.

1. Batman showing up in places of danger he should know nothing about.
One of the biggest improvements they made, imo. Batman always "shows up". Have you ever read the comics? He knows where Joker is, where Two-Face is, he knows where Riddler goes for cheap booze, and where Catwoman hides her vibrator. That's part of his character: to have that ominous, all knowing presence no one can explain. To show up when he is least expected and leave in a manner that makes you say "what the hell...?". If anything Batman Begins ruined the character by making all these carefully spelled out explanations for everything Batman did and accomplished, taking away from his legendary status and making him basically a glorified police officer. In this he rose above all that and displayed some traits that seemed almost superhuman, which is an intergral aspect of the character.

Randomly exploding buildings in a movie need no explanation?? if this wasnt a batman movie you would be asking the same question

No I don't need to see Joker wire the hospital with explosives just because it's Batman movie for the same reason I don't need to see Vito Corleone's thugs fly to Los Angeles from New York, sneak into a stable, find Jack Woltz's prized horse, then saw off the horse's head, then sneak into Woltz's bedroom while he's sleeping and carefully place the horse's head in Woltz's bed next to him without waking him up.

JESUS CHRIST... THATS THE WHOLE POINT, HOW DOES SOMEBODY WIRE A HOSPITAL WITH EXPLOSIVES AND NOBODY NOTICE!?!?! ..

Joker had a detonator that means I know he spent time and rigged it out. I could care less how he did it. Again what you are asking for is like seeing Batman actually assemble his suit or showing Batman actually practicing with the bat pod to show he can use it.

Seriously. Imagine if the movie actually spelled out everything. Would bea five hour long movie.

LOL what does people do in theaters these days!?!??!! No one pays attention anymooooore:o:o??

How does someone in real life and not a criminal mastermind bring down an entire federal building in Oklahoma? We know how he did it, which means we know it can happen.

I just gave you a reason explained above. Sure I made it up but it still is a way of wiring a hospital to explode.

Lets try another.

Joker stole a bunch of ambulance cars wired with insane amounts of nitrate c4, dynamite, every single explosive from Gotham to Metropolis City. He parked it and did a Fight Club blowing the hospital up at the base.

How about another explanation.

Joker made a giant bomb that looked like a vending machine and left it in the lobby.

and another

Joker dressed as a nurse placed bombs near all of the gas tanks of the hospital.

Im not asking for a 1 hour scene of them rigging the hospital.. maybe a 1 minute scene of the joker and his guys in maintenance suits or in hospital uniforms or some other disguise wiring the hospital to give the audience some idea how the damn thing exploded
I must know how the Sky Hook works.. They didn't explain all the details of it so it makes no sense..

Why does it matter? Joker was dressed as a nurse. I am pretty sure it is obvious he infiltrated the Hospital no problem.

huh??.. the federal building was a truck bomb... not a rigged demolition

Dent was chilling there the whole time. The real question would probably be why Maroni's boy let him get in the car with Dent, let alone not seeing Dent just chilling in there with a gun waiting for Maroni. Of course, that's not the point, but still.

:o

wasnt it said in one of the virals Joker stole enough of something to blow up half of Gotham

I mean really it wasnt like Joker just magically put things in there he had been planing this out since who knows when he set up all the pieces and set them all over the place

he rigged the hospital probably months ago
he rigged the boats as well

it was all part of his plan

I mean there can be a whole prequle to the dark knight showing how the Joker set everything up

You're right, it was the illumanti. Bush has this giant cover up to only make it look like the Joker destroyed the hospital, but we all know the "official story" is a load of bunk. Damn Christopher Nolan, he's one of them, he's trying to withhold the truth of how all those fictional characters died. That bastard:cmad:

why does it matter.. the movie prides itself on being realistic.. the joker rigging a whole hospital with obviously many hundreds of pounds of explosives and nobody noticing is kind of unrealistic and therefore takes away from the movie

the thing bust into the air as another plane comes by hooks onto it and takes the two out of the area I figured it was fairly easy to figure out lol
