The guy Two Face confronts is the crooked cop Wuertz, who was working for Salvatore Maroni, who in turn was taking orders from the Joker.

Wuertz is the one who picked up Dent after the Joker's failed ambush and took him to the building to be blown up. Wuertz assumed Dent was dead because he was in on the plot to kill him.

Oh, OK. It would have helped to have remembered who that guy was then. ;D

He stole the explosives weeks before the event; you could argue he put them in then. If he can get in as a nurse; I'm sure he can get some explosives into the building.

Joker did surgery on him; tell him it would make him feel better and he'd see bright lights like Christmas (he says that in the film; watch it again he CLEARLY says that)

Are you suggesting if Dent died they wouldn't have arrested Joker?

Joker has people all over the city. It is possible he hid the bombs, it is also possible the place was rigged long ago he just felt now was the time to trigger it. Explaning this would be like trying to figure how Batman dissapears all of a sudden.

The goon with the bomb in his stomach was a crazy person probably from Arkham. Joker promised to get rid of the voices in his head if he put these "lights" into his stomach.

Joker probably didn't plan on being arrested, however he probably planned ahead if he was to get arrested. The man with the bomb in his stomach was his back up plan. He could use him for any situation, his use wasn't simply for breaking out of jail. It is his ace up his sleeve.

Ive seen the movie twice and I loved it.. its damn near a masterpiece and I plan on seein it in IMAX this weekend... but anyway.. how do you wire a WHOLE ENTIRE hospital with explosives and keep it from everybody working there??.. I know the guy in the jail cell talks about the christmas lights but what if the Joker had killed Dent (Blew up his armored car) during the chase, the bomb in the guys stomach would be moot because the joker more than likely wouldve taken off and disappeared in the city (maybe I am WAY over analyzing this movie and if I am let me know)

Well there are a couple things that could have occurred.
1. They simply didn't put him in the jail cell yet and was with Joker as he tried to kill Dent.
2. The goons that shot down the helicopter saw that Joker got caught so they sent in their kamakazi goon to get him out.

Plus if they killed Dent Joker might have still been captured.

It wouldve made things ALOT more easier to follow if they had showed the Joker plotting the tunnel sequence chase because its seems to that Jokers plan was to try to kill Dent in the tunnel (and also lure batman out??) and his backup plan was that if that failed and he was captured that Maroni's corrupt cops would take Dent and Rachel somewhere where the Jokers people wired bombs to detonate (where they on a timer or were they activated by Jokers people??)

Well Joker naturally has to leave his cell to make his phone call. He also probably knows how intense the explosion is.

Also Joker does care. The ferry senario was a big experiment to prove a point. He wanted the city to crack and tear itself apart. He really can't do that from inside his cell. Once he is captured the city will maintain a calm again. Joker has to terrorize gotham by threatening to blow up a hospital and blah blah.

The Joker would not have disappeared in the city even if he had killed Dent. He would have let himself and his men get caught, especially the thug with the surprise inside. Why?

Because he needed to get to where Lau was being held. He needed to get him out of the police precinct. So he bombed the place from the inside to create the distraction to get Lau and get out. Remember that Lau was the only one to know where all the mob money was being hidden, and the mob needed that money back.

Then he decides to burn it all because the city needs a better class of criminal.

The biggest plothole. How did Maroni only notice Two-Face was in the car after it was going 35 mph down the highway??

He obviously wasn't in the car before either, as Maroni's bodyguards let him in.

Something must be sloppily missing, or it's a plot hole.

Joker ordered 300 packages of bio hazardous material to be shipped to the hospital. The Hospital naturally unable to sent it back right away stored it away. (the packages contain gasoline or some other crazy stuff)
Joker then gets tons of dead bodies and crams them full of dynamite and leaves them in the morgue. Joker then has 20 goons wired with bombs unknowingly. Joker leaves presses the button and bam.

There are so many possibilities how he could have done it. Trying to dissect it is just pointless as there is no reason to.
