The Winick stuff gets better with time. It's almost sad to read now, given how far downhill Winick's gone lately.
I read a couple issues of it and ditched it. In that case, I just wasn't really into his "bold re-imagining" of the Captain Marvel powers. His Green Arrow and Outsiders were utterly horrendous when I quit reading them, however, and I hear they haven't gotten any better since.
I doubt it. Superman doesn't look more like Brandon Routh and Batman doesn't look like Christian Bale.Wonder if they'll re-tool Capt. Marvel to look like Dwayne Johnson when The Rock decides to play him on-screen?
Just a thought.
alright.ultimates is shaped up and ready to go.............after a year or somthin? anyways, still looks good, those first few panels had me semi disopointed about what was really going on.
The hippie allegories seem so easy right now they couldn't possibly be intentional...so, knowing Millar, they probably are. In any other book, I'd just shrug it off as me overthinking things. In this book, those kinds of allegories practically make the story.
I'll say this for Millar, though; it's very clever.
(And, yes, 616 Thor had rainbows too but they...didn't quite spring forth to do battle with his enemies. This is, like, blatant)
His WOLVERINE arc is on shakey ground and ONSLAUGHT REBORN is an abomination.
i must admit..onslaught reborn is a travesty..i really liked the original story too..
what a waste.
...No offense or anything, but which part of "616 Thor had rainbows too but they didn't quite spring forth to do battle with his enemies" did I lose you on?I mean...it's not like there's a RAINBOW BRIDGE OF ASGARD or anything like that...right?
...oh...wait...
Im glad I didnt check it out nowi must admit..onslaught reborn is a travesty..i really liked the original story too..

I'll never understand the business decision to put Liefeld back on a Heroes Reborn project. It's not a fan favorite project. People hated the Avengers under his tenure, and Marvel ditched him for it. Now they put him back on it? And he agreed? That's like one big WTF moment.
