The Official Previews Thread

Something in-between Spidey Super Stories and the Ultimate line. Not to be taken too seriously. I mean, you wouldn't go around saying that the latest issue of Jughead Digest is an affront to literature (even if it is!)

I guess not every for-kids take on a superhero can turn out to be Batman: TAS. Still, why couldn't Parker just cross the Agents of Atlas over with the classic Avengers or even the New/Mighty Avengers? It would've been so much better. And I'd have read it.

Which is what it should and could have been. I just think it missed the mark completely.

And Jughead is supposed to be just how it is. It's been that way for 50+ years.

I think the Agents of Atlas will pop up in the 616 again.

I don't know. I was talking about the Nazi vampire gorilla from Brian Azzarello's recent Dr. 13 story as the first coolest.

Yeah, that costume thankfully seems to be coming back into vogue for Cyclops, who was the only person it really looked good on. I think it's Cyclops' best costume in general. I'm not really feeling Raimondi on Scott's hair, though. I prefer my Cyclops a bit more well-kempt. Cyclops is totally the kind of dude who'd part his hair.

Oh yeah, the preview looks good, too.

DC also released some previews for this week's comics to Newsarama. Walt Simonson rocks the hell out of the art on Superman #666.

Dude. I saw that Simonson art last night and I nearly wept because I won't buy it.

I'm all over it. It seems to be a Hell-themed issue because of the number, with very few ties to any of the ongoing Superman plots, which is good because the ongoing Superman plots kind of suck.

Preview of Marvel Comics Presents #1 at Newsarama

I'm looking forward to this series more and more. The Spider-Men convention looks like it's going to be fun.

Wow, even the trade dress is pretty. I'm really looking foward to this as well. There's a need for books like these, I think. It definitely adds to the concept of a shared universe, and lets great creators tackle great characters.

Yeah, it's always nice when characters guest-star in each other's books, but the guests always play second-fiddle to the main character of the book. MCP will provide a venue for all the characters to mix freely, without the fear of a guest overshadowing the main character or anything.

That last page with the guy I've taken to calling "Energy-Cap" in my head still has me really curious.

I don't mind the cover. I'm a sucker for huge group shots like that no matter who's drawing them.

Cool cover, I can't believe Wolverine isn't front and center like he is on almost anything.
