No UK doesnt. Australia always does. Game hardware and software is downright ridiculous over there. You'd be grateful for what you have to pay after hearing how the price is gouged over there
Actually I do remember now an Ozzie gaming friend telling me about the costs of some of the games over there a few years ago and I couldn't believe it. Can't remember exactly how high he said but it was nothing like the rest of the world. Dread to think how much they'd get charged for a next gen console on day 1.

I was talking in terms of $/€/£ - US/Euro/UK although I also meant to include JP, all countries I would realistically buy a console from. (I own US & Japanese XBox 360s as well as PAL). The UK always seems to come off worse than US & the rest of Europe for some reason though and that's part of (although probably not the biggest) reason why imports are popular here.

I didn't realize this sooner, but how slick of Sony to release a teaser for the PS4 the day before Microsoft shows off its next system. Even by giving us a date, they draw more anticipation to June 10th, which almost made me forget that Microsoft was holding their conference today.

I still feel like Sony is taking the "wait and see" approach before officially coming out with full details on pricing and release date as they prep their E3 conference.

Hope 4 has a sleeker design than One. With Kinect not built-in, One's looking almost as big as the original 'Box.

I don't get why people actually thought Kinect was going to be built into it. Kinect is a camera and needs free movement in order to be functional. With everyone having different setups, many of which are in entertainment center, the camera needs to be detached from the system so it can be placed in open view

Anyways, I thought the Xbox had a very sleek design. I hope Sony goes for a more traditional shape and not some odd curve design its had with its PS3s (or that huge original phat model)

Xbox One (dumb name) definitely looked impressive, but its as clear as ever that they are about more than just gaming, so with that said, I'm still definitely getting a PS4. I didn't really see anything that appealed to me as a gaming, not to mention, I don't even watch all that much TV, so all of that extra stuff just doesn't appeal to me at all.

Wow, that nonsense is true? Isn't that basically suicide? Unless Sony and Microsoft agreed to block games together, to prevent used sales. But if Sony doesn't block used games, Microsoft is going to be hurting, hard.

Regardless of the used game thing (cuz I don't buy used games) I still think PS4 just won that very much so. MS had nothing and you could tell they did not. While Sony was like Games games games games games games games.

To me it made the choice very easy.

but its not like MS isnt gonna reveal the games. Isnt E3 in 2 weeks.

I do get the complaint that they didnt show games but the way some people act, they act like MS just said that Xbox wont have any games at all

Because they won't have as many games as Sony and they know that. Sony has almost 32 or more in house devs. MS has 4. MS never has had as many exclusives. They just would blow their money on pointless timed exclusives and DLC. Not actual creation of games.

Sony has made way more IP's and continue to do so. MS says they are making new ones...but for what? Kinect ( I will bet so).

It's not just about the reveal though. It's about their message. Sony's message was to all devs that be free over here, make games the way you want to make them.

MS's was. NFL? Skype? TV? Have you heard of those? I will bet Sony shows more games/interesting games at E3.

Sony pushed their relationship with Developers, and how they worked on the PS4 together. Microsoft was stood there and said, "Look at all these belles and whistles!" I think Sony had the better conference, and a clearer message.

MS was doing so good but shot themselves in the foot with that

I agree too. They were going to show the games at E3 as E3 was huge in their plans, but the whole blocking used games is a major sticking point.

It's not just about buying used games, but I can't rent games, and friends can't bring games over without me paying a fee on top of it.

Sorry, not paying extra money.

Its more about the first impression. Sony got a lot of flack for not showing the PS4, and Microsoft even mocked them a bit, but they showed games and how they run in order to draw interest and gamers were definitely impressed by the little tease that they saw.

Microsoft on the otherhand, showed the console and some of the new features, but they barely talked about games because they want to draw interest from a different, possibly wider audience. Not to mention, most of the stuff they showed was CGI stuff, except for the Call of Duty stuff, which in some way comes across as "Hey, Call of Duty is big and that's all we really need to show you because it will sell systems and get subscribers."

Again, as a gamer, and someone who doesn't play Call of Duty online, it just doesn't appeal to me. Everything they showed is nice, but its not what I'm looking for.

Same here, seeing as how most of my time gaming in the past couple of years has come from rentals.

not necessarily true. The games are tied to your account. Your friends should be able to log into their Xbox account in order to access the games. Games better be fast to install bc I can imagine that being annoying. I mean people already complaining about the installs on the PS3's bluray titles which aren't even full data

well i guess Im biased because IM a Halo and Gears fan, while on PS im just an Uncharted fan.
So sinc eI know that Xbox will eventually have a new Halo and Gears that Im not that worried about MS not showing games.

Honestly Im probably gonna get both systems the question just is which one is first. I guess it'll come down to what new exclusive games besides Gears, Halo, and Uncharted will come out at the launch

To me, it's about convience. I shouldn't have to switch my account from console to console to install games, and if that was a huge deal they could have simply just required the disc to play on other accounts.

Good thing I'm only a Halo fan and Mass Effect hasn't been exclusive for a while now. I can wait a couple years to get the next Xbox and whatever Halo games that will have been released by then.

true but you wont be needing to pay a fee to play games your friend brings over, which seemed to be the main issue at first

Sony's stock is up more than 8% since the One reveal. Microsoft's down almost 1%. I hope this sends a message to the Microsoft brass.
