IF it does launch between October&early November I wonder IF there would be Black Friday sales for at least certain launch games/accessories and PSN cards.

Does anyone know if DCUO will be any different on the PS4? Or just a graphics upgrade?

yeah those (well one of them any way, I'm sure I loaded the continuation to that part after Greg left) are the same videos I loaded up from their e3 day on the DCUO thread which is on their youtube .

I'm sure there will be. Doubt we'll see them on the consoles themselves, but I'm sure they'll be plenty of related stuff up for grabs on BF.

Game studios should work out a deal with Gamestop where they can't sell used copies of games that just came out for a 2 week window. Similar to movie theatres and how with new releases, the studios get a much bigger cut of the pie compared to a movie that's been out 1 or 2 months.

Obviously GameStop wouldn't want to agree to something like that, but if the game companies all stood together Gamestop would have no choice.

I don't think that'd really fix their problem, though. A games value isn't going to decrease in two weeks time most of the time, so you're still going to have games being sold at $60 and get trade-in values at $20, and resells at $55 with GS reaping the profit. If anything, it would probably garner fear that it'd cut those front loaded sales since people may just wait for a time when they can freely trade it in.

Really, honestly, the idea of trading in isn't an issue. It all comes down to the prices that GS works out. They are making a killing because they're buying back games at ridiculously low prices and selling them at ridiculously high prices in exchange. They do this because the consumer mass audience is playing ball with it. I don't know why they are, but they are. I guess people take convenience over practicality.

It's cause it's easy,(they just want to be rid of it, when a trade happens so they can pick up what they need or want and go) and people don't like hassles( like being haggled if they sold it them selves which is what happens, the people you sell to want a deal and will try to make you lower the price that you want it bought off for )

And with few others they didn't think about it that much. That's why. people will almost always take the easy path, cause they know dealing with others will and can give them grief in some way, when it comes to making a sale them selves. Business is a messy thing and only few people can handle it.

I'm excited for this mobile app. Being able to buy games on my phone, ping it to my console so it wakes up and downloads it, and have it when I get home, sounds awesome. Not to mention messaging and such.

Better phone integration into both platforms is exciting.

Agreed But I'll be using the app on my iPad,I don't have a cell phone

I'm really confused coming out of Sony's E3 pressor this year.
It was just a rehash of the games they showed at their initial announcement back in Feb. or March or whenever, and some multi-platform offerings.

Basically, what do they have besides Killzone 4 and Infamous?
Of which both I have no interest in, mind you.

Killzone series has always been a ho hum, me too series, and an after thought, in my opinion. I mean it's okay, but nothing to really fancy when compared to CoD, Battlefield or Halo which are all far superior.

And Infamous, c'mon, really?
Its always been generic. Its a generic C-list comic book wanna be game, always starring some generic D-list forgettable protagonist, of which they have had to change his look in every game mind you because they can't get an identity look on him, because he's generic and always looks like a bum.

Anyway, Sony says they have other games in development, but what are they? Where are they?
And actually games coming out soon, not delayed for four years like Killzone 2, was when it was shown at E3 2005, and than released four years later in 2009, or like Gran Turismo 5 I believe, losing track, but was shown at E3 2005 and again released four years later.

And finally The Last Guardian, I believe initially shown at E3 or TGS 2008, only to be canceled entirely in 2011.

Just sayin.

Anyway, Im not buying PS4 this year, just curious is all, Im getting the Xbox One which actually has games, and tons of awesome, must have killer app ones too. Not to mention the far superior controller =)

I probably would have gone with Xbox One if they didn't try to completely screw me over earlier this year with those BS restrictions.

eh.......I don't see the X1 having much more games than the PS4.

Neither have a siginificantly greater number of launch games. In truth, the launch exclusives for both systems are weak.

^ yeah.

that's why I'm not really enthused by either, right now.

The launch line up at least with exclusives is kinda weak and the F2P games at launch interest me much more,I'm buying Battlefield 4 But that's a third-person game.

Eventually there will be more exclusives But I'm not getting the PS4 for exclusives,The new console just interests me more than XB1

I can understand the notion that the launch line-up is weak (although, compared to past console launches it's rather good).

The thing about Sony these days is we know they've got more in the pipeline. They probably could have used E3 to announce another 5 or so PS4 exclusives but they're just not rushing it right now.

I don't think I've ever had a modern console that had OMGLAWNCHGAMES! PS3's launch kind of sucked, the Xbox 360 only had Call of Duty.. The PS2 had next to nothing at launch (in think I got Tekken Tag withnmine) and MS of course has Halo.

So.. The last launch game that I remember everyone raving about was Halo: CE.

That being said.. Killzone alone is a great launch title IMHO. I expect to hear more from Sony in the coming weeks. Isn't Gamescon in AAugust?

While the first party exclusives aren't anything to call mom about, having a console launch with Battlefield, COD, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed, FIFA, Madden, etc.. it's pretty great. Probably one of the best launch lineups ever, even if most of it is cross-gen.

Yeah, Gamescom is at the end of August.

Crazy, Xbox One has done a great job covering all of their bases in terms of launch games.
Strong titles from well received franchises and new IPs.

This is what Microsoft's Xbox One launch business model looks like:

Next Gen Racing game- check.

Next Gen Fighting game- check.

Next Gen free world Zombie slashing game- check.

Next Gen kick ass multiplayer game from former IW creators- check.

Next Gen kick ass action adventure Roman gladiator combat game- check.

Next Gen unique movie/game interwoven experience from Alan Wake creators- check.

Next Gen cell shaded zombie and jet set radio shot gun fest, courtesy of stealing dev from Sony's Ratchet creator- check!

in retrospect, Sony's business model looks like this: ... .... the same generic shooter, generic comic book game and... ... crickets... maybe make announcements of games in development only to release them 4 years later, or cancel them all together down the line like The Last Guardian.

Every MS Xbox One game is a must buy killer app! I've used 3 weeks of vacation from work already, set aside for launch of the Xbox One, to delve into the next gen. The rest I'm using for Christmas!

Sony, No Next Gen Racer, or Fighter, or multiplayer game from Respawn For You!!

No Maximus Gladiator For You!

Oh, and Sony, No Next Gen Zombies For You!!

Have you read any hands-on preview for that Gladiator game?..Doesn't seem that kick ass after all

Again, tripping!

I'm sure all the jealous Sony fanboys would like to say so, buuuuuuut I have friends who have played the game, it's combat controls are pretty much the same as the Batman Arkham games, so yes, Roman Gladiator game is very much kick ass: CONFIRMED. ;)
