Yes. The issue is whether we can change it or not, but you are definitely able to retain what you already have. Id change mine if given the choice. I can understand it not being possible on the PS3 bc thats not something they forsaw, but they got enough requests over the years and it can be done on Xbox, so hopefully they planned ahead this time. Charging $10 for this seems like an easy way to make money and people will pay it

Yeah, I'm thinking of changing both PSN & XBL name to something new and to be the same across both so hopefully they allow this. Like you say as long as it's possible, no reason for them not to do it. Please your fans and make money out of it.

I'm really considering starting over, but only if I can get the screen-name that I want.

Yes, it's all a Sony Entertainment Network account so nothings going to change. Your PSN ID will work on PS3, PS4, and Vita.

Yeah, each type of trophy (bronze, silver, gold, and platinum) has a point value associated with it (I don't know what it is). Each account has a progress bar and level number associated with it, as you get trophies you "level up".

Did you restart only because you had to change your name? How much gameplay is a level 15? Any idea how much gamerscore that might be equivalent to? At least you would easily complete all those games you'd played before. My friend with over 100k gamerscore restarted so he could get 100% on all his games and he's already got 60% of it back in half the time.

So that's a fair amount of gameplay! I have quite a few friends who seem to care more about 100%ing/Platinuming than accumulating overall score/level. I just want to play as many games as possible, 100% what I can (definitely care & try hard for my favourite games) and otherwise not bothered. Main thing is I want to finish the campaign on every game of any significance.

Edit: So back to the earlier point, did you replay games you'd completed on the old account? Should definitely take advantage of that!

My trophy record sucks,I never cared about achievements&trophies and so I only get them by completing story campaign stuff or by accident than trying to seek how to get them,I don't even think I have a platinum trophy,I am embarrassed to transfer over my trophy record since it's **** compared to others and only looks nice cause my level is 10

Some stuff. I sold a lot of the games I owned and have only re-bought a few. I still have my old account so anything I bought digitally is still playable with my new one, and PS+ has also been a good help in a steady stream of games. I had a few platinums before but none now.

The only real number that matters at all (if anything) to me is the number of platinum trophies. All these levels and points are of no value to me. There some games I wish I could delete from my trophy list. Give me that feature.

I will restart my PSN account for PS4 (at moment it has loads of crap on there that I've hardly played) & only the best PS3 exclusives & go for platinums & maxing out certain series. But want to think of a name that I can use accross both XBL & PSN..so it needs to be available on both.

Yeah, I didn't know you couldn't change it right now when I wrote that. Well good luck. Hopefully it's obscure enough that noone takes it. Did you check that noone already has it?

yeah, there should be an option to change your PSN ID, even it means a small charge.

sometimes, you just want to make a small change to the name, but you have to create a whole new ID to do that.

Really what both MS and Sony should do is what Steam does. You have an account name which can't be changed and then a display name which can. Sony is sort of doing this with the "real name" stuff, but they should just go all the way with it.

IF the account name would be my full name and able set it in pvt then able to change my display name whenever then yeah that'd be great

I think your real name will only be displayed to your friends. Like.. Ben L won't be seen by strangers.. Only be people on my friends list.

It's really helped me as I used to hardly ever finish campaigns. I'd get to a hard annoying section,try it a few times and if no luck would move straight onto a new game! Its also a good way of softly telling me when to move on as even with a huge collection in the past I ended up playing the same games all the time. So it encourages me to try more games and the best thing is that it records dates of when I've done certain things in games including completing the campaign for the 1st time. Love looking back at some games I've blasted through and others that I've gradually made progress over 6 or 7 years. Also love having a comprehensive gaming history that I can hopefully look back on in 20 years time. Don't care for the competitive side of it or showing off and that's where a lot of people get an unhealthy obsession with it. And I think many would better off if they didn't care about them!

I like trophy hunting in specific games. The lure of the platinum has pushed me to see absolutely everything in games like Dark Souls, Muramasa, Hotline Miami, Soul Sacrifice and even the Yakuza series.

Here's the thing with trophies. Games like inFamous reads previous trophy data.. That's how they bread what you did in past games. INFAMOUS 2nd Son will read your Infamous 2 trophy data.

Bundle containing Killzone, camera and two DualShocks - 499 Euro. In the UK that evens out to £430, same as an Xbox One by itself. Not bad.

Edit: Although I guess it's only fair to state that a Kinect is 'bundled' with the Xbox One too.
