I had HBO on direct TV and loved HBO GO but hated having to pay for the cable service. It was a waste of 15 dollars a month when HBO on direct TV showed the same movie every freaking day multiple times a day for an entire month. If HBO Go was like Netflix then I would gladly pay 10-15 a month for it.

I'd probably pay even more for it, to be honest. HBO has a truly incredible catalouge of material that I'd love to watch, and their physical releases tend to be on the expensive side. But I do get why it's not like that. The way cable is dictates it not to be. Maybe in a few years.

and from my own personal observation at my local stores, I keep seeing X1s on the shelves but rarely do I see a PS4.

nope, I think the release date is set for Feb 22

Same here. Ive yet to see a PS4 in the wild this year, but plenty of X1s on the shelf. Hope Sony manages to get a better handle on their supply bc they are missing out on alot of potential sales

and perhaps that's one reason why in Dec, more X1s were sold than PS4s, since X1s were more readily available.

on the other hand, I'm not sure if that's good news for MS in the long run, because if X1s are still on the shelves ( and not flying out of stock ), that would suggest the demand isn't as great.

it will be interesting to see what the sales comparisons will be as the year progresses.

but, yeah, Sony does need to start making more available, if they don't want to lose potential sales to MS.

I almost considered getting an X1 for XMAS, because it was much easier to find one at my local stores.

Same X1's since a few days after launch.. He runs the entire electronics including their stock... If he would have sold out of the X1's he would have had to place an order letting MS know they needed more.

He said they have about 4-5 just setting there but people are calling daily for the PS4.

I wonder if that's the same case with my local stores....where it's the same models just sitting there.

I think X1 will see a price cut before PS4.

It doesn't matter if you have a unique big feature, price is more important relative to your main competitor to the masses.

Also apparently Gamestop have had a load of PS4s in recently.

Oh I agree.. But I don't think it will drop for a bit. Microsoft is stubborn.. They have the Sony mindset from last gen. It will take them being out sold everywhere before they smarten up.

I want to grab an X1 an some point.. But I'm just gonna wait at this point. No real need with the PS, Vita and 3DS tthat I already have.

I went to Fred Meyer last night and they had 4 or so behind the case. They did have more X1's though.

MS cant afford to drop the price bc they'd be losing too much money per system sold. Frankly, they dont need to bc based of the most recent NPD, they are selling quite well. People ARE buying them at $500. You wont see talks of a cut till sales slump and its too early to see any effects of that. Even then I see them packing in a launch game as the standard edition before dropping it. The PS4 being in short supply is certainly helping

I'm interested in the XBO but not as much as PS4 and I'm not gaming as much as I used to so I'm getting the PS4 first,I'll get the XBO in a couple of years cause there will probably be a slim/elite like the 360 had

OK, so question...if I bought Lightning Returns as digital day one release on ps3...can I play that digital game on my PS4? I know the system isn't backwards compatible...but I read a few places that said some digital games will work.

The system is not b/c so PS3 games will NOT work on it. Some games are crossbuy, meaning that if you buy it on one system, then you own the version on the other system but the game needs to be on both platforms. Example, Flower was just released on PS4 and if you have it for the PS3, then you own both. LR however is not getting a PS4 release therefore your PS3 purchase can not be played on a PS4. The PS4 doesn't have the Cell processor so it can't run PS3 games. Being digital doesn't change that. A game needs to specifically made for the PS4/ported over. Of course PS Now will offer streaming but that is something completely different

What free PS+ games and content are available for PS4 so far?,When does Planetside 2 come out?,I still don't know which current next gen games I want and so I'm still planning on just playing F2P games when I get the console
