speaking of Ps4 issues

raven x knight, I gotta tell you this laggy Ds4 is not an isolated incident for me. It can't be.

I first noticed it with my red Ds4 from Japan that I had & sold with the black Ps4, then with the white Ds4 that came with Destiny, and now again with the new white Ds4 that best buy gave me to replace it. at first I thought it was because of the low battery, but then EVERYBODY would be noticing it, so far it seems still like it's just me. but it's happened to me with 3 controllers, so I know it can't be just me.

Also with the 3 beeps thing when turning the Ps4 off,

Well, the Xbone doesn't seem to have many issues. Meanwhile the PS4 has jet engine fan problems, software issues, blue lights of death, disc drives refusing discs... whatever the hell I seem to be having.

There were so many problems it caused Amazon (which sells a **** load of consoles) to change their return policy to what it is now.

well......knock on wood........I haven't had any of those issues.......knock on wood.

but that's why, on purchases like consoles, I'll spend the extra money to get the extended warranty.

and it's why I prefer to buy local from a major retailer. if something goes wrong, I can just take it down to the store.

Well, it just got weirder. So, I picked up Last of Us from a Redbox. Total rip off (seriously, 2 dollars a day?), but I wanted to try another PS4 game on these two consoles, and had no quick alternatives.

When I put it into my first PS4, it made a horrible sound.. Might upload it to Youtube, because people might think I'm exaggerating. Not quite buzz saw, but obviously something very wrong.

So far, the second PS4's disc drive just makes audible noise a few minutes into the game, but nothing that will wake people up.

And the disc drive is not stopping...

Ugh.

Amazon actually changed its returns policy due to the sheer number of defective PS4's. Before the PS4's launch, you would have to send something back, and then get a new one. But since so many units were faulty (we're talking tens of thousands) they made it so you got a new one in two days.

God damn it though.

since you got both consoles at Amazon, it could very well be that they got a bad batch of White PS4 bundles.

did you get both consoles directly from Amazon ( shipped and sold by Amazon ), or was it from another seller on Amazon?

could you contact Amazon and tell them the situation ( both consoles are defective ) and just get a refund?

could you get a White bundle from a local store instead?

or maybe even try a standard black model?

That's possible. Wish I had a normal model to compare it too.

But at this point, I don't know if I even want a PS4 anymore. Nothing but problems it seems like.

I can trade in the game, and keep the controller for my PC. I guess.

yeah......that sucks your first experience with the PS4 has turned out like this.

I got mine in December, and I haven't really had any problems, especially not the ones you've described ( again......knock on wood ).

if you can get a full refund from Amazon ( on both consoles ), your best bet maybe to buy a White bundle ( if you can find one ) at a local store. make sure you can return it for a refund if it's defective.

test that out right away. if that works, then send the 2 consoles back to Amazon for a refund.

if the store one still doesn't work, then you'll just have to return all 3 and decide if you want to continue with the PS4.

and again, this may be an issue with the White version.

perhaps consider buying the regular model instead?

I think I might just break down and buy an Xbox.

hmmm......banning isn't good. but you have the right to return something that is defective.

and as for the X1, it's funny that you're gravitating towards that because you think it will work better and have less problems than the PS4.

whereas I got scared away from it and returned it in part because I went online and read all these horror stories about the X1.

people saying they get grinding noises when they insert a disc. or they insert a disc and the console doesn't recognize it.

or games and apps crash back to the dashboard. or the UI being lagging and things freezing.

game installs taking a long time or getting hung up.

lots of things that quite frankly scared me. cuz my PS4 doesn't have any of those problems......

and yet, you find yourself in the opposite position..........

Have I asked you yet? Does your copy of Destiny make your disc drive noticeable for five minutes after starting?

I don't know bro, I never opened it, I'm selling it. My friend down the hallway who's got it and I saw him playing it his Ps4 sounded fine but he's got the black one. did you get the white bundle?

It was being laggy. I'd push the analog stick a little and the camera would do a full 360. I'd push to where I want to go and not get there. I'd pull the trigger and wouldn't aim down the sights right away. I'd push my stick right and the camera wouldn't budge.

I thought at first it was just a thing with ghosts, but this also happened with playing minecraft. I'd turn my player left and right and it would WAAAAY more left or right than I wanted.

there's something there about the controllers being "unresponsive" and the need to "reset" or "resync" with the console. Look under "General Controller Malfunction."

maybe resetting or resyncing the controller might help?

Well, this is interesting. With the new PS4, the Last of Us also spins for about 5 minutes.

I guess... that's an improvement over the buzz saw noise the first one made.

Still not normal, right?
