hmm, though the trend looks like after Saw II its profit is becoming less, kindof disheartening. Maybe its wore off on alot of ppl,but thats okay like poster said, they are so cheaply made they will make up that cost and then some..
I think these shows u don't need a huge budget to make a good movie(s),you just need a good idea, and ppl around u who are on the same page(and a studio that don't interfere too much(fox))....

I don't think it's wearing off, it's just everyone knows these films are strictly October/Halloween time type of films and they see it opening weekend and so forth. If it was wearing of they would be flopping regardless and wouldn't be given sequels despite the cheap budget.

The SAW franchise is Lionsgate cash chow and they've received a ****load of money from the franchise in general. I have no idea what they're going to do when the film the sixth SAW which is the final one.

Tonight I'm going to check the midnight showing out. Can't wait. Gonna be awesome!

I won't be able to see it till sometime Saturday afternoon. I'm really excited.

"hmm, though the trend looks like after Saw II its profit is becoming less"

Actually SAW III made more than II total, II made slightly more in the US, III grossed more worldwide though...I'll be going to the midnight show in a few hours.

SAW II made $147 million total and III made $164 million.

Only a few more hours baby! Well, I'll talk to you chaps when I return!

Can't wait for some of your reviews, i havent seen enough from the trailers/tv spots that makes me wanna run out and go see it.

Seeing this Saturday. I really hope it's good, which it should be. I just don't want them to do something predictable, (predictable to me, at least), like make Jill the new apprentice, if there is one.

I saw it. Enjoyed it. Not the best one. But it was worth the watch. 6/10

I have a question:

is dr. gordon mentioned or back in anyway?

Yes, he is mentioned again.

I just got back from the employee preview and I liked it. I am going to watch it again because some co-workers couldn't shut up and were making ******ed noises, making stupid comments, and couldn't take anything seriously because I was REALLY interested in what was going on.

But overall this one is much more character driven and relies more on the characters instead of over the top gore. I think David Hackl should direct the sixth film, for he definitely has some unique ideas and the characters were actually interesting this time around.

This thread will be more lively as the day progresses. This SAW film gives you A LOT to think about and I've noticed quite a few hints pertaining to certain characters.

Did anyone who saw the film recognize the house that Hoffman, Strahm, and the other agent was in? If you look closely that house and the interior is very similar to that of the house in the second film.

When Strahm was in the basement did anyone notice that blood trail on the floor? It looked as though it was a trail as if someone was being dragged or dragged themselves to a location?

Sucks that Strahm died. He was such a badass and Hoffman was badass too. I loved that smirk he gave Strahm because he knew he had him right where he wanted him.

That's good to hear.
You know, I'd probably credit the characterisations to the writers instead of the director, since they wrote Saw IV too. But I wouldn't know, I won't see V for another week.
So is there anything you can say about it without being spoilery? :yay:
Where would you rank it among the Saw films?

Well they said he was very hands on with the material and wanted it to go back to the basics of the first SAW. I will tell you that there's not that much gore in the film at all honestly. I mean it's there, but it's not all over the place like it was in 2 and 3.

How would I rank it? Tough one for me because I definitely feel like it's a matter of opinion. But for me personally I'd rank it up there with the first SAW film. For some reason this one is much more stronger, more character driven, more mysterious, and now that I've had time to REALLY think about it, I really love the direction they went with this and the twist definitely shocked me.

I am going to post another spoiler so don't click on this.

I am starting to think Gordon is alive. They've mentioned him in every single film, all of the flashbacks never show him, and that trail of blood in the basement definitely looked like someone was dragged or dragged themselves to a certain location. But I think Hoffman's test is going to happen in the 6th film. Costas Mandylor is a great actor, if or when you see the ending, you'll realize just how much of an ******* Hoffman is when the twist happens.

WHAT THE HELL!?

This one confused the hell out of me. BIG TIME!

Hoffman is John's true apprentice. There is no one else. Hoffman, Jill. Everyone else is dead.

There's someone else. Hoffman wasn't really tested and I don't count his confrontation with John as a test. He's going to get it in the sixth film and there's no way they'll go with Jill. She's WAY too obvious for them to make her an actual apprentice.

Hoffman is not John's true apprentice. He was forced into joining him because John was going to expose him. I wouldn't be surprised if that glass trap is actually for Hoffman honestly.

Damn...8% on RT and the one guy who liked it looks to be 14 or 15 years old in his picture. This franchise has become a bad representation of a great first movie.

its beyond pathetic that they keep making these crappy movies.

these movies are dtv quality at best.

how sad that people pay money to watch these crap fests which they actually class as "movies".

pathetic

the more people that pirate this movie, the better it will be for the entire movie industry.

They are already screening actors for Saw 6. This should die already. This is why American audiences are considered stupid bc all the ******s go out to see movies like this.

These writers/producers need to be captured along with Friedberg and Seltzer and then slowly tortured.

It’s hilarious how this thread stayed relatively quiet until the movie’s release.
Now it seems all the trolls have been inadvertently shaken out of their holes.
:whatever:

People shouldn't be considered a Troll for bashing a movie, (especially for this one :hehe: ) Or everyone on earth would be a troll. :oldrazz:

You want to watch it...fine. Go give them your money. But when you quit making good films just to make one in time for Halloween every year then they have lost my money. This franchise has been bleed dry and they are even recycling the subplots now:o

Trolling is when someone is constantly somewhere causing a ruckus. The movie opened today, I can come in here and say that I am not going to see it and what I think of the franchise:o

I don't want to see you talk bad or complain about a movie...even the Epic, Disaster, etc... Movies because that is considered "trolling".
