This is way too much discussion about a crappy horror movie.

Yet you took time out of your precious day to offer a comment about a "crappy horror film". Bored I guess? In any event it will remain unactive until someone offers something of intelligence and value.

I voted 5/10.. better than the last one, in my opinion

Yeah I read a tidbit about Lionsgate will continue to make these movies until they stop making a profit. My comment about Saw 12 seems to be justified now.

It's possible. Tobin Bell said it will stop at VI, one actor said it will go to VII, and another is talking about 12. I will say as much as I love these movies if I see a SAW VII being advertised I will give up and will never watch another one ever again.

Then I give you cred for at least that.

Truthfully the only way I can see your statement being justified is if the remaining sequels are released in theaters. I can't see these films still making enough of a profit to make it all the way to 12 honestly. I believe they'll be direct to DVD/TV releases or there will be films with a different title, but similar concept with the characters, themes, and traps.

I know I've given you and a lot of people a hard time for SAW. But I'm one of the few who still feels it should've stopped at three, and that they've gotten lucky with the last sequels in my opinion. But if I see VII, VIII, IX, or X being advertised for theatrical releases? I will simply walk away in shame and give up on SAW.

VI needs to be the last one. As much as I liked SAW V, there's no way they can continue these films and have it remain good. Let it end at six that way it can retain SOME dignity.

Yeah these will be direct to dvd once they get close to loosing money in theatres but as long as these movies have no competition for Halloween...you bet they will keep these coming because they know they will make a profit off of teens and gore fanatics.

if they want to continue making sequels, they really need to take time off after number six. there is no way they can expect to make one every year the way theyve been doing so far and not expect people to just get sick of anything to do with the franchise.

I think the movies stop after 6 anyway. I like the SAW series, really big fan, but I hope they stop after 6.

Agree,if they plan on doing more they need to take a few years off. I like the series, but if they drag it out for another 6 its gonna wear on ppl. Theres only so much traps/plot twists they can do w/o making it more watered down.
STOP AT SAW VI!!!!

ok, so the 8 people who got burned in the fire were those from the house in Saw 2 plus Dr. Gordon and Adam, right? But, we are still not sure if Dr. Gordon is alive? right?

Also, this has really been bugging me. What was the first Jigsaw trap? Was it the Blade Mask used on Cecil? and then Amandas? the Barbwire trap?

I mean, in the movie they have Hoffman imitate a Jigsaw trap in order to kill and get away with the murder of the man who killed his sister, meaning that the media must have some kind of coverage on Jigsaw. Now, i doubt that Cecil death was enough to start the phenomenon as it was the first incident, the media would at least need a second incident following the same pattern, but Amanda survived. So, wouldnt the Barbwire trap be the first trap were the media coined the term Jigsaw to the man responsible for the traps? if so, it doesn't make sense for Hoffman to help out on that trap since Jigsaw did not exist to media prior to it.

Did i miss something?

:huh::huh:

Yes, the eight people that were burned in the house was from SAW 1 and 2.

Eight People: Adam, Zepp, Xavier, Laura, Gus, Jonas, Obi, Addison, and if you count Tapp and Gordon that makes ten people. Now apparently they must've found Tapp's body since they had the memorial for him. However, you still have Gordon out there who hasn't been confirmed as being dead or alive.

Jigsaw's real trap was the one with Cecil. With the way the story is shaping up it appears that a lot of these events were happening at the same time.

Now here's how I think Jigsaw's traps went: Cecil, Mark, Paul, Amanda, and eventually led into him having Amanda helping him test Gordon, Adam, and Zepp, along with Hoffman helping him set up the House Nerve Gas game.

Last year, Saw IV came out. It was a goofy, overly-complicated, fan-made movie IMO after watching it a few times and it is definitely the worst film in the franchise.

I don't know why, but this year I had a good feeling about Saw V. I expected a lot of things to happen in this movie that didn't happen... something else happened instead...something more awesome...something to redeem the franchise from SAW IV.

And I got my wish. Saw V IS better! I know some people will disagree with me but Saw V is exactly the movie I wanted. And I mean EXACTLY.
It follows the same structure as Saw IV, but as not confusing and a little bit of Saw II (except it has likeable characters this time). The WHOLE ****ING MOVIE is unpredictable for someone who didn't watch any videos promoting it. I can't judge for the others. Some of the traps were SICK to watch, I'll admit it had me cringing.

There are 2 things though that I didn't like much: The use of CGI (a lot more than the other movies) and the editing sometimes felt a bit weird. There are still amazing transitions, a lot less quick-cutting etc., but sometimes I felt like the quick-cutting should have been used as a transition like in the previous movies. Sometimes it justs cuts to another scene in the middle of a trap. It felt weird... but didn't bother me too much.

Oh also, one thing I loved was the fact that it made you want to go watch the other movies to see the things that you missed in these movies because there's a lot of things.

There are still some questions that are unanswered and I believe that this time they weren't things that would make you feel disappointed when the movie ended. The movie is purely satisfying and already sets the bar high for Saw VI that I think might and should be the last Saw movie afterall. And there are plot holes that are filled in this movie and it also leaves ONE BIG plot hole... that I just figured out wasn't actually a plot hole, but you got to put the pieces together. It occurs during the first trap.

Oh, and Julie Benz is hot and has a nice rack.

The actual ending, which I'll agree was getting overhyped, I loved it...pay attention during the movie. You'll have to. I didn't see it coming.
Also, there is a hidden twist in the movie. Just listen to the music in the credits and you'll know if you're a true Saw fan.

But yes, definitely go watch SAW V. I haven't enjoyed a SAW film like this for quite some time.

Granted, just like you thought of V after IV, I thought Saw IV was an improvement over III. So you like Saw V better, fine. But I wouldn't call it 'goofy', nor 'fan-made'. Whatever do you mean by that? Sounds pretty insulting. It's intelligent and filled with a lot more story about Jigsaw than all other Saw movies combined. And 'overly-complicated', or otherwise 'confusing', is never a movie flaw, it's the viewer's own fault, if they can't follow.

Well, after some consideration I decided that Saw V is the worst of the series. Yes, even III had a better story. But it's not so bad as to make it into another dump slasher flick...however it's definitely on the edge there.

I don’t think they’ll go through with VII. I must’ve said this already, but if the main actor Tobin Bell says VI will end the story, I’m more inclined to believe him than any other rumour coming from any other actor.

But I wouldn’t go as far as saying that I wouldn’t watch it, if they actually do another one. Even if Tobin Bell won’t be involved anymore, what matters most to me is the story and the consistency of the series. I must be the only one who thinks of the Saw series as just that - a series. Much like a TV series, there’s a new season coming out every year, and as long as it’s good, I’ll watch it. I believe people are mostly annoyed by it because it goes directly on the big screen. You never hear this much negativity towards another season of, let’s say, Lost or Stargate…

SAW V unrated DVD details/spoilers!

Firstly, I can tell you that the total runtime is 1 hour 35 minutes and 3 seconds long including credits.

- New opening shot, pushing in on the door outside Seth's trap ("No Trespassers Allowed") before the 'Burg/Koules/Hoffman Production' title.

- New shot of Seth before 'A David Hackl Film' (much more atmosphere)

- Extra shots before Seth's trap starts.

- More finger-crushin' action.

- Way more shots of the pendulum cutting into him and intestines flying everywhere. Blood splatters across the frame of the device and across tarpaulin.

- Extra shots of pig mask Hoffman watching (before the eye close-up).

- Seth says something when he sees Hoffman. "I did what I was supposed to do!".

- Seth has an extra death-jolt before the title card.

- We don't see Strahm open the sick room door. Over black, it's "Let me see your hands! Let me see your ******* hands!" (the line is now Saw IV continuity accurate), with picture coming in at Jeff's "Where is my daughter, you mother--!". This means we lose the new shot of Jeff still with his back turned to Strahm.

- We never leave the sick room during the recap. The Saw IV shots of Hoffman leaving are cut.

- A couple of extra shots of Strahm in the box before the water floods in.

- The scene with John's tape ends with Jill slamming the box shut. No "Thanks for your time, Mr. Feldman."

- The reporter Pamela Jenkins has lost all her dialogue. She gets a few very pointed close-ups, but we cut as Hoffman finishes his speech.

- Cut from Hoffman leaving ('I know who you are') to him digging through the evidence locker for Strahm's phone. A cop says Hoffman is wanted at the hospital and it's about Agent Perez.

- Hoffman's scene with Strahm comes right before Erickson is introduced. They simply flipped the order.

- New shot of Ashley's decapitated head.

- Hoffman getting Erickson's name comes earlier.

- Charles laughs when Mallick calls Brit boring.

- When Strahm lays all the Jigsaw files out, we get a lot of rapid-fire flashes of Seth's death.

- BRAND NEW SCENE: flashback with Hoffman and Fisk -- Hoffman asks if Kerry is handling the Seth Baxter case and tells Fisk to keep him posted.

- BRAND NEW SCENE: We intercut Strahm's "You were involved with every investigation" line with a new flashback of Hoffman at his desk. He opens a piece of mail and pulls out the letter inside --

"I know who you are."

Hoffman got the message right before meeting Jigsaw. Essentially, when we saw him get it in the T-Cut (a scene that's still here early on), it was the SECOND time he got it.

- There's an extra beat after the survivors exit the "tubes" where Luba grabs her wooden rod away from Charles' remains.

- More exposition as the surviving trio enter the bathtub room. Brit says that she handles real estate development and that you can't build a new building without tearing down a couple of old ones. Mallick thinks there's a more important connection between all of them.

- Mallick asks how they're going to connect the cords. Luba tells him to get in the tube and they'll connect the cords. Obviously, he's not a fan and says no. Then she lunges at him with the pole.

- Hoffman writes something on his notepad and watches Erickson leave after a trace is put on Strahm's phone.

- Re-edited sequence: we cut from Brit's "They all would have worked" to Strahm following Hoffman, Erickson getting the phone location, etc. Then cut back to Brit and Mallick entering the bathrub room before the bomb goes off.

- The reveal of the burnt building is longer. Brit realizes that Luba knew her from the incident. Brit says no one cared, but Mallick screams that the families cared, the Feds cared, and he cared (hence burning himself). It's revealed that it was Brit's plan to set the whole development deal in motion.

Brit knew that there were eight people in the house. Mallick calls her a monster, and she says he is too. Mallick says, "We both deserve to be here."

- More shots of Mallick and Brit in the hand-grinders.

- More shots of Strahm getting crushed, including a pretty disturbing cry right before the end. The end shows Strahm getting crushed more from above and also below and he does let out a rather more disturbing and blood curdling scream than the theatrical release and you get to see his face as he is crushed - its MUCH gorier!!!

- Strahm loses NO dialogue in the final scene.

- Judging by the extended scenes, there is NO CHANCE IN HELL the blood trail from the bathroom is from Eric there is WAY WAY too much blood, that was put there for a reason!!!

Oh, another theory about Dr. Gordon has come up. I was on the official SAW message forum and for those who noticed the blood trail. The blood trail leads to the bathroom. Now we know it's not Eric, Adam, Zepp, Tapp, or Xavier.

It would be very interesting if a new test subject was crawling to the bathroom for refuge. But it also opens the door for Dr. Gordon as well.

lol GARBAGE. What do you guys like about these Movies anyway?

1 & 2 were meh, 3 was ok, then it got boring. But the whole concept of it is stupid.

What a constructive argument. But then again you came into a thread of a film you hate. So evidently there's something you like about it for you to be in here. :yay:

When's the dvd coming out? I have the other four, might as well pick this one up as well.

We all have an opinion. But certain posters come here to spew off their words of "this series suck" and have nothing else to offer. Nothing intelligent to say, nothing thought provoking, just the usual drive by from the newbie who won't back up his words.

As for Nirvana's question. It comes out on the 20th. However there seemed to be a wrong label put on one of the magazines because it stated it comes out on the 13th.
