Age of Ultron The Official Scarlet Witch Thread - Part 2

He did.

And it isn't "pretty much confirmed". There is no mention of anything to do with Inhamans anywhere in the prelude comic, there's not even a hint.

I mean, she even said it's an origin story. They don't get a 5 minute montage of powers. Elizabeth Olsen has said that she's only just learning about her powers in this movie.

Yep, which further confirms why their wardrobe works perfectly fine. Again, we could've gotten a lot worse...like DOFP Quicksilver worse. So I think the fact that people are complaining about their look when there's really nothing wrong is just a bit of senseless nitpicking.

A new MCU comic features Baron Strucker and the twins. Heavy spoilers in this article:

Indeed in fact there isn't much in the comic that tells you any more than we already know, they say the scepter and tesseract is connected, but the guy dies before revealing what it is, only saying that the connection is simple and they are both powerful cosmic objects.

Then we follow the scepter from Shield to Hydra, where it shows clearly that the big castle is Struckers Hydra base in Sokovia, which is a country, not sure why people keep saying city. They use the scepter to power Chitauri weapons and then use it on volunteers they find outside who are protesting including the twins. And that the scepter 'unlocks' abilities.

What is interesting is that even before they test on the twins, the scientist seems aware of what the scepter can do, so perhaps they managed to get abilities out of other volunteers but they still died.

I thought the whole idea was that Pietro & Wanda's powers were already dormant & the scepter simply awakened them whereas the other volunteers had no powers & were killed by the scepter.

Dormant Inhumans who, once zapped with the scepter (possibly a Terrigen crystal?) get their powers?

Once again the fans come up with something infinitely better than the studio or the toy guys.

In regards to the scepter as a terrigen crystal, I'm not sure how a crystal would also be a mind control device.

Looks like she's finally getting some merch.

.

I sometimes feel that the fans care much more about the characters than the studio or merchandise companies ever will.

Luckily there are fans with real talent to bring the characters to life - that is beautiful artwork.

Amazing art of the twins there. I hope they show a scene or 2 that focuses on the colours like that and showing them work as brother and sister. Mags would be proud!

This is why I hope SW, QS and Vision are the ones who destroy Ultron. Their powers could look really beautiful and colourful, and it will be a different scene from the usual 'kill the bad guy by bashing them'.

That's one of the reasons Joss had for bringing them in. Red, blue and free combo would be cool with me.

More cool artwork! And she's 26? Great, she can play the role for a lng time!

Yes, hopefully we can look forward to many (well placed) appearances.

Joss Whedon discusses the origin of the twins:

http://www.comingsoon.net/movies/new...ltron#/slide/1

“They have an origin but it’s largely described. They’re already good to go by the time we’re up and running. You don’t want to fall into Spider-Man 3 territory – and I say that as a guy who actually thinks pretty well of that movie, there’s some great stuff in that movie – but there comes a point where you’re overloaded with frontstory, backstory, origin story and it becomes very hard to juggle. My instinct is always, ‘Don’t put in more, work with what you have.’ But I insisted on putting in more in this movie because I felt I needed more villains. I needed someone for Ultron to talk to, and I need more trouble for the Avengers. As powerful as Ultron is, if he builds more Ultrons, they’re Ultrons. There’s no reason for him to ever to talk to them because they’re him. ‘I need you to – I KNOW! I AM TOTALLY YOU! I DID IT EARLIER! I know that because I am also me.’ That’s not a good conversation. Actually, it sounded pretty good there. I think I’m onto something.”
