I'am so happy to hear that this film isn't pushed back. It's cool that superman and batman are becoming an every other year event.
Dude it is not mindless action. SR had nothing. No story. Plotholes abound. We want a good story that has good action. Not a damn chick flick. And it is obvious that the general audience didn't cotton to it too much because of the low box office. Look at it's box office compared to the spiderman or other movies. And it has divided the superman camp. It did nothing good really.Yep.
Unfortunately, there are some people here that only want mindless action or a JL film that will probably blow.

I want a superman movie. Not a stalker weirdo movie with nothing in it.Dude, the problem here is that you think everyone thinks the same way as you do. As there are many people that think like you, there are many people that think is a great Superhero movie.
But I'm starting to think you only want a Superman movie that makes gazillion of dollars.

Wow. A poll here. Wow. I remember the days when the polls were foudn to be busted by guys who had multiple screen names. I don't take any poll on here seriously.
Even when polls have gone my way here I never even consider them. I know because quite a few posters were busted for jacking the polls with multiple screen names.I bet you would if the option for firing Singer was winning.
I bring the polls, because the way you make it look, it feesl like everyone on this world hated SR, when that is far from the truth.

Dude, it barely made 200 mill domestic. It had to crawl to it. BB and other movies made it a lot faster. And there were rumors, although unconfirmed, but I believe true, that Warner's was splitting a larger profit to keep SR in the first run theaters longer. Hell, everytime I went to the theater last summer and SR was still playing at the first run theater I would stick my head in and the theater was empty. I never saw this with the entire run of BB. And I went to the theater a lot in 2006. First run was right up the street from my business. And after the first two weeks, whenever I stuck my head into the theater, SR was empty at various times of the day. DWP had more people in it's theater whenever I stuck my head it. Hell, it had people in it.
Do I ever say that? Not once have I ever said that. I say based on Box office. Something you guys want to ignore. I have seen you post that everyone loves SR.
I agree, the reason why I agree with you is because singer didn't do something fresh (ie. a new take on the character like nolan did) he spun off of the original first two films. Not many people have seen those films at a young age...when i first saw the first superman at 4, i couldn't bare to watch it. It was far to long, to much talk. I think thats what happened with bryan, he based it off an old great film...he didnt do something of a restart like many would have hoped for.Even when polls have gone my way here I never even consider them. Unless I say everyone, then don't imply that. And the things I am saying are not singular to me. A lot of people here and across the web are saying them. Critics also ahve said them. One critic who works for the WB said she fell asleep during the movie and woke up to "see Superman fighting a rock."

And BB weekly actuals made much more money than SR did for it's corresponding week. Batman had good legs. SR made a lot of money during it's uncontested week and a half opening, then sunk and had to crawl and fight with Devil Wears Prada to make the rest, and every week it usually lost to DWP in the weekly earnings.

and he lost all the magic and charm and wit and excitement of those films and went on only one thing "that Superman and Lois would have had a child from their sex in Suprman 2" Like I said, it was either on Entertainment Tonight, or Access Hollywood, but before Spacey was cast and there were rumors of him in talks for Lex, said (paraphrasing)-I agree, the reason why I agree with you is because singer didn't do something fresh (ie. a new take on the character like nolan did) he spun off of the original first two films. Singer has his work cut out for him IF he gets the sequel.
Personally I liked S.R., but I wanted to love it, and I didnt. My only concerne with singer doing the sequel is, can he give us the action that alot of us crave in a superman film?? If he can, then i'm all for him doing it. If he cant, then someone else needs to take over.
so I guess i'm saying i'm on the fence thus far concerning singer.
No. There is a lot of infighting going on. That is what I am seeing with what is being leaked to the trades from the WB side of JLA, and only Singer and his crew talking about SR2. This is very reminiscent of the whole Solo Superman/batman VS superman days. You think all the people that works on a studio loves every film they made?

"I am glad he is getting a chance to do Superman. I know that ever since I have known him, he would grab anyone on the set that would listen to him and tell them his idea for a sequel to Superman 2"
That was truly his only interest was to give Superman a son.
I believe singer can, look at the x-men films. Superman returns had no super villains at all. so I dont think there was so much action lex could cause. It had more action then the original superman and on an epic scale. Im sure when he gets the chance at handling such baddies as metalo, doomsday, etc. he will have those big action sequences we all want.
I like donners origin. I just wish singer would have taken Lex in a different direction in his film. He could have stolen the crystals for making weapons or something instead of real estate, then sold the weapons to the highest bidder(s), therefore creating Lex-corp.
EDIT: Lex was my biggest gripe with S.R., everything else I was fine with.
