The Official Stupid Question Thread: Marvel Edition

The 70's and 80's..and, yes, even the 90's were filled with those instances. In the 70's and 80's, Marvel really tried to get new comics more interest by having their main stars make appearances in the other comics.

Let's look at three of my favorite comics from the 80's that I had subscriptions to: Dazzler, Rom, and Micronauts.

Dazzler: Issue 1 had most of the Marvel Superheroes in that one: Spidey, X-Men, Iron Man, Thing. then, you see other characters, like Hulk, Power Man and Iron Fist, and Angel, making appearance in later issues. The next bunch of issues had villians which are more famous from other comics: Dr. Doom, The Enchantress, Absorbing Man and Galactus.

Rom: Rom became very big when he had the X-Men show up in 2 issues. His was pretty popular, I think...and, I can't remember how many characters showed up in his comic, but I remember him making an appearance or two in other comics, like Power Man and Iron Fist. Also, Galactus showed up in his comic, too.

Micronauts: I remember Swamp Thing, Nightcrawler...and, then they even had a miniseries where they teamed up with the X-Men.

Plus, during this time, Marvel Team-Up and Marvel Two In One was real popular for me.

90's was huge, like you said. Remember all the UK books? They got popular because they had the big names in Marvel in those books. (Death's Head II) Plus, other comics that were new, like Ghost Rider and Deathlok is filled with those special guest stars.
Wait, I thought Swamp Thing was DC. Are sure about that one?

Yes, Man Thing. I had a brain fart, since I've been collecting Swamp Thing's old 80's title lately.

Anyone remember Baron Zemo's plans in Thunderbolts? Was it ever discovered what his true plans were? Was he a bad guy or good guy? Is he dead? What happened to the guy?

In SWORD #1, why does Beast look like a damn horse?

He was still blue and furry, but the artist gave him this bigass snout

Well, you are aware that he's been a giant cat person for the last, seven or eight years right? If he looked like a horse then I'd chalk that up to the artist not being very good, but then again, only two people have really gotten the look right as far as I'm concerned.

Whatever happened to Cammi, the girl Drax hung around with in Annihilation?

Last I saw of her she was hanging around with that pixie looking thing that used to hang around with Thanos, wandering the universe from port to port.

Ahh that actually sounds familiar! Good memory Nubs!

Not really, I reread Annihilation last week. :o

:argh:

Really? in what book did this happen? I think DnA forgot about her becuase Drax isn't even looking for her any more.

Last issue of the Annihilation mini.

Supposedly he was looking for her when he and Princess Emo went to, wherever the hell it was they went, when they brought Moondragon back.

The main book? #6? I can't believe we haven't seen her since her and Drax split up. He was supposedly looking for her but I guess he forgot.

Well, the Universe is pretty big. That fact that you could find anybody in it is kinda astronomical.

When was he going to find her?! He was looking for her but then the whole Oblivion thing detoured them because he had a chance to save his daughter, and then immediately following that the War of Kings started and he's been wrapped up in that mess up until the most recent issue.

I'm guessing they'll get back to it when the times is right.

I want to get the Secret Wars trade and i'm planning to get the UK edition because it's only £10. The new HC edition is £45! But the HC also includes Thor #383 and She-Hulk #10, so could anyone tell me what happens in those issues and how they tie into Secret Wars?

He tried to take over the powers of the Grandmaster and help the world, but in a decidedly more anti-hero fashion. Songbird stopped him. The power sent him time travelling for a bit. He's back, but we haven't seen him since, though.

Is that where he's time-traveling and meeting some of the Baron Zemos that came before him?
