Yeah, it was. Came back just in time to talk his crazy distant cousin out of killing him and become his lackey.

What issues led up to and showed Osborne going bonkers in T-Bolts mountain?

Ellis' entire 12 issue run on T-bolt's. They're in trade. The first was called "faith in monsters" and the second was "Caged Angels" the second had osborn going bat**** crazy (but with good reasons).

Think of the Dark Avengers only written much much better.

Nice one man. Glad they are in trades. So is the second one where Normie skewers Swordsman with his own sword?

Yep, the second arc had Swordsman vs. Venom with Swordsman coming out ahead. Then Osborn Vs. Swordsman where he did a lot more than just stab him (I won't spoil it but it shows you don't want osborn mad at you. Then finally Osborn vs. Songbird (also a brutal fight).

Swordsman got skewered a bit after that. You had Secret Invasion where swordsman decides to kill Osborn and the arc after that he got skewered.

ok cool man I'll deffs tracked them down. They'll probably be on the ebay by now.

OK, I got one potentially stupid question: someone who's not really into comics asked me -just a comic book enthusiast- the other day, why is this guy Xavier in a wheel chair..? I couldn't really give her an answer :o

Sorry [A] X-Men ain't my thing.

Looking at Warren Ellis' wiki, he is from about 5 minutes down the road from me!!! I think I like this guy!

his legs were paralyzed during a battle with Lucifer waaaaay back when. im pretty sure it was in a mountain and there was a cave-in.

Xavier got caught under a falling block type trap and got crunched. Then he got his mind transferred into a cloned body which was intact and was crippled the same way again under circumstances I no longer recall because it was so stupid that I don't want to remember.

Took a long time for that s**t to happen if so. He seemed fine when he was walking around being all badass trying to get his memory back after Bishop blew his head off.

I don't recall how he lost his legs in his battle with Lucifer WAY back before he formed the X-Men... but he got his legs back after a brood had infected him and destroyed his body. His mind was transfered into a cloned body, which obviously didn't have broken leg.

Then later on he was in a battle with the Shadow King and during this battle (and I think his was mental) his legs were shattered again. So he was crippled once more.

Then during a battle with Cassandra Nova, she switched their minds and took over his body. During the following battle with Cassandra in Xavier's body (Xavier was in Cassandra's, which was comatosed) the mutant healer Xorn healed Xavier's body while Jean switched the minds back. This healed his broken legs so he could walk again.

A short time later we learned that Xorn was actually Magneto (note: in continuity it wasn't magneto but really Xorn, who made himself to look like Magneto... yeah, it's X-Men)... anyway... Magneto/Xorn reveals that he fixed Xavier's legs by bonding it with metal or something like that. He undid what he had done and Xavier becomes crippled again.

Then when Wanda did the whole House of M thing and said "No More Mutants" reality was fixed, along with Xavier's legs. This was never explained and probably won't be... but none the less, he can walk again.

And that's where we are at the moment.

Did I miss anything?

Nope, that's what happened.

Sigh - Scary how convoluted X-men are.

That's why I stay away from X-Men. Just reading that summery caused me a head ache, let alone actually reading the books.

Yep everyones favourite chain smoking, hard drinking bearded one :woot:

Any time Osborne loses it is good times. I await his President Luthor moment when he flips and tries killing everyone.

Xavier goes from being crippled to able to walk more about as much as Jean Gray goes from being dead to alive.

I remember Xavier saying something like Wanda, in a cruel twist, restored his legs but left him depowered.

And Magneto/Xorn used Nano-Sentinals to allow Xavier to walk, which he destroys when he reveals himself.

Not sure where to ask this question, so I figured here was good enough. It was announced this week that Leonard Nemoy was going to come to the Emerald City Comicon; but, I've also heard he charges quite a bit of cash to get his signature. Anyone been to a convention with him and know how much he charges? (I think I also heard he stays in a separate room, where you have to pay JUST to see him.)

Wasn't he crippled for a while, but needed artificial means to move? I thought I read that somewhere, forgive me if that's inaccurate.

You know, I think I've heard something like this before... but not being a Star Trek fan I didn't store it anywhere in my brain.

I mainly read X-men, Iron Man and Spider-Man but wanted to catch up with the big Marvel events that I missed out on.

So far I have the graphic novels for Avengers Disassembled and Civil War. I plan on getting Decimation, Secret War and House of M.

What I want to know is, for any of those books, do I need any companion tpb's to get a full understanding of the events?
