Bruce is 30 in BB and TDK. So a younger actor has got to portray Clark/Superman.
Bale is 36 now, will prolly be 38 close to 39 by the time Batman 3 is finished up filming and released, so who's to say they have to go younger for Supes.
A good writer can fix any problem, thats *IF* nolan's Batman even meets this Superman.

Filmwise. Bruce Wayne is 30 years old. If Superman is younger, then he will be aged between 25 to 29. Hamm is too old.

But who knows if The Man Of Steel takes place a few years after B3 or is before the events of BB?

Superman is younger than Batman and Hal Jordan, but only by a few years.

Bale, Reynolds and Routh's ages are pretty much intact with their comic counterparts.
No, Superman is older than Batman. He only looks younger because of his slowed aging. When he's about 50, he stops aging. Routh and Reynolds are the right ages but Bale is too old for Batman.

But, if WB wants an older actor, will you get behind it if they cast one.
I'm not trying to be an a$$ or anything, far from it, but its looking like thats what they want, an older actor.

Actually in the comics Superman is younger then Batman by about a year or two. However he became Superman before Bruce became Batman.

Guys, relax. The fact that some executives might have asked to Jon Hamm if he's interested doesn't imply they want an older Superman. Maybe they asked Robert Pattinson too and we don't know.

I think this could be a realistic WB cast

Superman: John Hamm
Lois Lane: Elizabeth Banks
Lex Luthor: Johnny Depp

No to Jon Hamm. He's too old and he looks it. Josh Duhamel on the other hand is 37 but he looks much younger. Plus he's a good actor and has a lot of charisma.

Why johnny depp?

Depp & Dicaprio get thrown around alot because their supposedly good actors. I don't see it, but, then again alot of people didn't see it in RDJ until he did Iron man, so just goes to show if your in the right movies, fanboys will pick you no matter what your range is, or in this case isn't. He'll RDJ was nothing more than a B celebrity with a drug problem, now apparently he's a god. Fame be a fickle thing. like I said Depp & Dicaprio are ****ing themselves off at the mo, so their the flavor of the month I guess.

This movie would be lucky to get someone as talented as John Hamm. That is all.

Also John Hamm rules. I won't cry if and probably when he isn't playing title role, I'd just be looking forward to him in other films.

I agree. you cant please all, all they can do is try and please most.
Besides, it's along way away from being a done deal. They may end up using someone else in the end.

I still don't get the support that Duhamel gets. What am I missing with this dude? Everything I've seen him in, he just comes across so... bland. Can someone clue me into a movie where he's been anything more than adequete? I don't get why some of you act like he's such a great actor. He's better than Welling or Worthington, but that's about it.

^I love your sig That-Guy! lol

Anyway I think that Duhmamel is a likable enough actor but I just don't see him getting the role. I personally think that his time has passed.

Duhamel was very charismatic when he was on the TV show Las Vegas.

That was a fun show by the way....it ended a bit too soon. He has shown he has heroic qualities also, from his roles in Las Vegas and in Transformers.

He is also a better candidate than most of these 25 year old unknown pretty boy models who can't act and who get suggested here day in and day out. Ugh....

No offense, but...you have no idea what you're talking about, do you?

While i'm not intending to insult anyone who knows a lot about the acting world, I seem to have pissed you off... sorry.

I was just giving my two cents. No i'm not an expert...

I can kind of see your point, but I think your being ignorant of just how hard it is to make it big in the acting business. Oftentimes, it has nothing to do with the level of acting talent. It's usually just being in the right place at the right time. Guys like Channing Tatum and Sam Worthington are not good actors, but someone "noticed" them somewhere and decided to make them movie stars, whether we like it or not. On the other hand, the amazingly talented Viggo Mortensen was a relative unknown until his mid-40s, when he hit it big with the LOTR movies.

Also, you have to take into consideration that many actors make an effort to avoid "movie star" status because it allows them to portray a variety of different characters without worrying about audiences and critics having a pre-conceived notion about them.

You make a good point, and I will take back what I said.

Agreed! I would rather have Duhamel ahead of Hamm, for the reasons you just gave.

Hamm just seems to short and certainly looks his age.

Duhamel on the other hand is 6'3, with room to bulk up, is 37 years of age but looks younger, has the facial square jawbone structure a Supes candidate needs, has charisma, has experience working on big time productions (Transformers) yet is still a relatively under the radar known actor who is good looking and is an American actor.

What else do you need?
