Truth.

I've heard people talk about how WB might be trying to make this a one-shot Superman adventure film just to deal with legal issues or something. But, realistically, I don't think they can afford to do that. If you put out a Superman movie with an older actor as a stand alone film, and then go back and start a new franchise down the line with a new actor, you're pretty much shooting yourself in the foot, from a business perspective. They're already going to be dealing with relaunching the character with a new director/cast after SR. I don't think they're going to want to go through all that again in a few short years. They're going to want a "sure thing" that can be there for a two to three, possibly even four, picture series of adventures. They're not gonna want back to back one-termers. I expect they'll go younger with someone they're certain of and comfortable with.

After reading all the articles and hearing all the rumors, my little pea brain has deduced that this reboot will will be used to set up a JL film. In that event, this could very well be a one shot solo superman film imo.
We need some more info.

You could bet that on anyone, and every one being talked about here, and very well come out 100% correct.

Even if someone who has been suggested gets cast, you would still be right 99.99% of the time.

it didn't work for Julian McMahon when he announced that he wanted to be James Bond. Also, I'm sure the producers are not fond of neatly trimed, dyed eyebrows.

I often wonder why studios seem to rule out actors (and directors and writers) just because they really want the job.

Corporate bullsh** at its finest. If you want the job, act like you don't give two sh**s about it, I guess.

I am not sure who is going to be cast, but they will need to be in excellent shape. The lastest Hemsworth photo, especially the one from comic con has set a new standard for superheroes. The dude is monstrous, and looks like a super hero. A small superman may not go over well.

There's a process. And none of it involves putting yourself in front of a camera and trying to rile up fan support. That just doesn't work for something as high property as the Superman reboot.

I have zero doubt of Manganiello's sincerity and he seems like a nice guy. Honestly, I bet he already tried to take a meeting with someone high up at the studio and/or the Nolans as a means to pitch himself for the role and it didn't work out. I can't imagine him going 100% into the "public/fandom support" direction.

I don`t know. To play Superman you have to transmit kindness and toughness and i have a hard time seeing that kinda of kindness through Jon Hamm and Joe M eyes. Besides, Hamm is waaaaaaaay too old for the role. Why not Michael Trucco instead?

Hamm is way too old for the role and Trucco isn't? Unless I'm mistaken, Trucco is one year older than Hamm.

Trucco looks younger and is in a much better shape also. And, to me, looks more like Superman also. If anybody ever seen Trucco in one episode of the show Tru Calling, they would know what i`m talking about. He oozes the qualities Superman possess there.

I didn't say anything about looks, but you just made it sound like Hamm is way too old and way too older than Trucco.

Anyway...I like Trucco. I think I could see him as Superman. The most I've seen him was on Castle.

LOVE hearing this news IF true below regarding the Nolans' casting process for Superman. Going with established and experienced actors is the way to go!

Only thing I don't like hearing is that Cavill will NOT be considered for the role, but I LOVE hearing Jim Caviezel will be considered for the role of Supes!

Yeah baby! I hope they consider Hugh Jackman also!
