I said this on another board, but I think Rock Hudson in his prime looks exactly like Curt Swan and then Wayne Boring were drawing him back in the day. That would have been interesting.

Well gay or not, that's besides the point (obviously maturity for open discussion was taken for granted). As long as we're talking hypothetical casts that are never going to happen I'll throw just as valid a name out there. He looked exactly like they were drawing him. In fact I'm not so sure that wasn't a conscious decision on DC's part.

YEah I could see Hudson as a Silver Age Superman - I'm just trying to see his Clark Kent in my head. Reeve (and Routh) have a look that dosn't have a give away like say Nic Cage's eye's would ahve if they had him actually play the role. Glasses or not his eyes (Cages) would be a give away and I'm trying to figure out if Hudson would have this same problem as he had very distinctive eyes - not like Cages but they had a very different "sparkle".

Rock, to me, looked like a bigger version of Kirk Alyn...and had a similar voice.

He would have been great.

Routh was the only one so far that pulled off the dual identity realistically; mainly because his look allows him to fade into the background as lanky Clark Kent and be done up/dressed up/buffed up to look like Superman; the real actor is somewhere between those two extremes.

Thats the kinda actor you need for a realistic take on this pretty wacky concept.

Ever since T3 I've wanted Daines as Lois - slightly longer hair - black please- and I think the stylists could get the right look- and she showed in T3 she has the chops for an in your face type of Lois!

Henry Cavill actually has a GREAT look now for Superman. I was against him during the Casting Wars days because he looked like he was 12, but if you've seen him recently on Showtime's "Tudor's" series, he's filled out quite nicely. AND he can act his ass off being clasically-trained. Completely blows Ruth out of the water.

Cavill has aged in a good way. I thought he was too pretty boy before but now he looks older and less pretty. BTW, Welling has undergone the same tranformation. Less pretty more manly. Cavill's look now with his acting ability - sweet!
