Well said.

Hamm would make a perfect Superman to me, with the look and acting skill to do it... the fact that he's a little shorter makes no difference to me. I'd much rather have that than another Routh.

I think we are forgetting another possible candidate Tim Olyphant (Justified). He has the bulk up a lot since Deadwood and is the right height. He is also getting a lot of buzz right now. Joe M. would be interesting as well but I think he would be better Christian Walker if they ever make a Powers movie. Though JH might work. Something tells me to not count Levi out either.
:word:

Your forgetting about the Steroid and HGH factor running rampant in Hollywood these days.....not as bad as the drug and pill popping epidemic though.
HGH is huge in Hollywood. Steroids I kind of doubt in most cases. Most people lump the two together incorrectly. HGH is administered by a doctor only, and only with perscription. Perscription are easy to get, and are essentially justified as a business expense in Hollywood. It's used to treat people who feel overworked, overtired, or people who are getting older and, in this case, need to continue looking and feeling young.

The reason there is such a misunderstanding about it is due to the expense. The actual HGH runs anywhere from $400-$800 dollars per week, and the appointments to have it administered generally come with consulting fees that can make the fee for it over $20,000 a month. It's something you can get cheaply, but without medical supervision it can carry a wide variety of risks. So you either have to smuggle it and be an expert, or be very extremely rich. Either helps.

That said, I'd want Brandon Routh again. I'd even wager Goyer would be willing to cast him. However, should studio politics or the displeasure with SR remove him as an option, I'd go with Armie Hammer.

Armie, of course with HGH, could easily get to size. His height is already more than adaquate, and his speaking voice is actually quite deep. He's got a little old Hollywood flare to him which makes him an ideal Clark Kent. To me Clark Kent should be a somewhat antiquated figure since, being an alien, he bases his CK identity on how he thinks humans should be which would probably be an iteration of the idealic people he saw on television, and his "parents".

Build can always be worked on, hence why I'm okay with choices like Armie Hammer and Harmon Walsh etc, who have the height, decent facial resemblence but not anywhere close to the Superman build yet.

I remember a guy from the past being considered too skinny genetically to achieve the Superman build... and nowadays

Bottom line is build can be worked on. Height and facial resemblence can't... unless you resort to camera tricks, CG and movie magic.

I agree with you! I'm 6ft 3,220lbs. I have stood next to several of mentioned candidates and the difference is obvious! :word: Thats one of the things that bothered me about Burton's Batman. They were they same height! Batman should not be the same height as the joker!

Horn and the old brass of Warners want Routh, but Robinov and the DC:E people couldn't care less. That's basically the politics of it.

Nevertheless, I'm curious whether the producers and potential director will meet with him at all about the project. We'll find out soon enough.

I could see Armie possibly working.

I wish you hadn't posted the Hammer cadaver picture again. Every time I see this thing, all I think is, I don't want a dead guy playing Supes.

I like Routh a lot. As an actor I think he's great. I'd be more than satisfied with him again.

Hammer has got THEE most miserable face I have EVER seen. He doesn't even look remotely anything like Superman.

Nick Zano on the other hand looks almost the spitting image.

Hes in good shape, only 6'1. But I feel Zano's appearance and height would work well for a powered down Superman.

Can Zano act? I've never seen him in anything, and but resume doesn't sound too impressive. Though an actor has to start somewhere, I guess.

I figured that his connection to MTV was a bad sign.

MTV needs to be dismantled and destroyed before it causes genocide.

One thing is for certain.....Goyer should NOT direct the Supes film!

I would rather go with Jonah ahead of Goyer for directing duties.

It really is a shame about Routh and the WB/DC politics. Physically, there isn't anybody more perfect for the role (in my opinion).

Eh, I don't think that it has anything to do with politics they just want to distance themselves from Superman Returns.

Agreed. Goyer directing Man of Steel, which is going to be one of the most important DC movies ever, is just

You'd be surprised how many posters on here thought the opposite and launched into endless debates over it.

Routh was not "skinny genetically", even when he was skinny, you can tell he had a Mesomorphic body type

I remember this.

Endless debates over the body type of a guy who couldn't act (although he is a nice guy in real life) and was starring in an utter mistake of film that set the Superman franchise back further than it was.

Actually, on second thought. A Goyerized Superman movie could be just what the franchise needs to be more modern. Think about it.

Superman crashes through the walls of Brainiac's ship and confronts him.

Superman: Hey, dick-face. You seen my dog?

Brainiac: Krypto? Ah yes. You know that your dog has a bigger dick than you?

Superman: And when the f**k did you see my dick, f**k-face? Go f**k your sister.

Brainiac: Okay, first off, that's just rude.

Superman: Aw, f**k you. Where is Krypto? Spit it out, you f**king fruitcake!

Brainiac: He's in my left ass cheek. Or is it my right ass cheek? Hmmm... He's in the meat of my butt, just below the Hello Kitty tattoo. Seriously, just pull down my tighty-whities and see for yourself.

It would be EPIC.

I remember hearing this guy's name mentioned on here. I like his look, but I've never watched Tru Blood.

I'm still waiting on True Blood to let Joe flex some serious acting muscle so I can get a read on his abilities.

totally i doubt its a one film deal, that is why i dont think we would see someone like fox or hamm in the role. I still say casting will probably be like gl looking for folks in mid 20s-early 30s. Then we will probably end up with a few unknowns in the mix some mid known guys, and then a RR type of person who is throw into the mix at the end of it.

Crazy thing is, in a one film deal scenario, there are so many good candidates. Way more than a trilogy scenario, which is what likely will have.

People wanting an "edgier" Superman might be pleased.......bravo sir, bravo!!

LOL!! Hilarious!

That would be more of a Tarantino type of Superman film no? :hehe:

I really want to see more of Manganiello in True Blood, because he hasn't really impressed me at all so far. I want to like him for Superman, but so far, meh.
