And he's openly homoessexual, Has a small frame, terrible voice and looked even worse in the costume in that TV ad.

MAtt bomer should NEVER be Superman. Period.

1) Homosexual? Really? Yes, I know that will dissuade studios but its hardly a reflection of how he would play the role. :whatever: Oh, and for the record, Bomer is not openly homosexual, nor is he in the closet. He simply (and rightfully) says its no one's business.

2) Small frame?

Seems fine to me. Put on 20 pounds of muscle and it would work just fine.

3) Voice is subjective. I think his voice is just fine, so we'll have to agree to disagree.

4) It was a cheap Japanese car commercial. I'd hardly say thats a fair indicator.

Sorry but that matters to me. People already make jokes about it all the time. If he`s cast. OMG.

This is NOT what Superman needs.

And I'm quite sure a good majority more are NOT bigots and could look past it and see the character he plays.

Anyway, to me his frame and height are more important and he DOESNT have it. Plus he looked terrible as Superman in that toyota commercial.

Once again, 20 pounds and he'd be just fine, as for height, I was unaware that you would be standing right next to him. Height is not nearly as big of a deal as people act.

Small frame, Height. Pictures don`t save the guy. In live action he looks small and is small. No amount of muscle is EVER going to change that.

Cavill is a much better actor, looks more the part than him and is taller.

Bomer looks good in pictures but when you see him in live action, its just meh. He has a Peter Parker frame.

What's the point of suggesting him of the studio certainly won't go for him?

He also lacks the physicality for Superman by leaps and bounds. Bomer is a smaller dude than Superman should be at a minimum. Heck, he's even smaller than Captain Kirk Chris Pine. Superman is imposing.

:lmao: Bomer is twice the actor Cavill is. I made a point of watching a few episodes of the Tudors. He's so stiff and dry. Plus his face is horrible for the role.

Oy, I give up. I suddenly remember why I don't visit the Superman forums often.

"ZOMG! HE'S NOT 6'4 260 LBS! HE CAN'T BE SUPERMAN!"

Bomer is a fantastic actor, great look and plenty of charisma, I'm sick of hearing about this Cavill nobody, he's not even American. His height is irrelevant, I love how some people on this site want some muscle bound pro wrestler sized oik to play a role that will require actual acting.

PS: Why are Mods breaking their own rules about Cavill?

I don't like him either but you're only allowed to diss him in his own thread in this forum.

Height is irrelevant on camera. Short actors can be made to look tall and vice versa. As for weight, it is possible to bulk up. Having boxed, I've done it before to be eligible for increased weight classes. People act as if because someone is slim now, it would be impossible for them to bulk up. Putting on body mass is very very easy and actors do it all the time.

I have no idea what you are talking about, this is a casting thread, and people are going on about Bomer being homosexual and that's ok?

Yeah.

Being a homosexual isn't an insult against him, so it's not like we're making fun of him for it.

He is what he is.

Just a slight point about height.

Cyclops was always portrayed as tall - James Marsden was 5'10

You'd think Mr Fantastic would be taller than Human Torch right? Nope - 5'11 to Chris Evans 6'1/2

Yeah.

He is what he is.

Using it as a reason for him not to have the part? I'd imagine if I were gay I'd find that pretty offensive.

And Jackman looked taller than Marsden in many scenes despite some attempts from camera angles to level them.

Superman has to be imposing and tall. It's one of the core physical aspects of the character.

Heck, they didn't even feel Brandon Routh was tall enough. He had to wear heeled boots to get to 6'4. They were evident in the promotional shots.

Exactly. Height just isn't all that relevant on camera. Its not like the theater where you are in a live enviroment and can see the actors in scale. Height can be adjusted on film.

I thought we werent suppose to talk about Bomer, Cavill, Routh, or Welling

I've been very impressed with Bomer in everything I've seen him in. He was very impressive on Leno the other night as well. That said, if he is gay, he cannot be cast. The media would very unfortunately tear him apart.

Height should be irrelevant. In fact, having the hero shorter than the villain often increases the audience desire for the hero to prevail.

The depiction of Superman in the DC Universe Online game kinda looks like Hugh Jackman to me!

This DC Universe Online game just looks simply EPIC and BAD ASS!

Don't know if any of you have seen the trailer yet, if you haven't.....check it out. It is freakin awesome!
