I'm pretty sure the seams are gold. The one on the waist is CLEARLY gold.

Dude, if it was "CLEARLY" anything, there would be no question. Just wait until we get another picture that shows the entire suit, and then if the "seams" are gold, then you can give yourself a big pat on the back. Until then, it's all speculation. You can sit here and say it's CLEARLY this or CLEARLY that, but until we have 100% proof positve, with no question whatsoever, then it is CLEARLY speculation.

It's called a belt. The bottom could be pants. And if not, it could just be an accessory. You know, like the cape.

I'm sure purists feel the same. However, some people do honestly like it. Fans of the classic costume can watch every Superman movie made to see it in action.

There are people who like the suit better without the trunks. They want to see a different, modern Superman, and this move is finally made for them.

im not, by any means, a purist... many old posters here have seen my own personal design of the suit, and it doesn't have trunks on it... but a belt without trunks is just as visually unappealing as trunks without a belt...

it just doesnt work.
that's why i hope it's the Flyby design. that works better than a straight-up belt by itself.

Nice manip, but I hope you're wrong.

I just don't understand the whole design around the thighs/crotch area.. it looks like a pointless design element that doesn't flow with the rest of the costume.. particularly the upper body.
