You're right they dont, they make him look like a fat A:super::super:.

That's just your opinion. The classic design with the trunks is universally recognized as the iconic Superman costume. Not matter how much people want to ridicule the trunks, true fans know better.

Hey guys, don't know if anyone ever posts sculpts here, but here's one I'm working on of Cavill. Still trying to figure out the likeness obviously...

Amazing!!! That's one awesome sculpture.

the classic look is looking more and more dated with each day.

To a couple of people, yes. To millions of fans, no. :word:

Pretty sure you got that backwards. Or, at best, the majority of people simply don't care. :o

Backwards? I don't think so. Take a look at this site and other sites polls.

No matter how much trunk-haters try, you can't deny 70 years of Superman history.

What research are you using to back this up with? The only pole that I know of is the one from CBM, it was unanimously supportive of the new look, with only a small percentage truly disliking it.

CBM? Are you kidding me?? That poll has the credibility of the Weekly World News. People voted there many times to force a result. Check on the Google search engine where in other websites the registered users voted. There was control and the results are accurate.

I try accessing the link but all I get is the Google search engine and no images. . . . :csad:

If you Google "Superman sculpture" and click on the "Shopping" tab, you will see a lot. In the drop box on the right, you can set the images from "Price: High to Low" and even the highest priced ones are not as good looking as that sculpture. He should sell them (although, I don't know if that could be done without having Warner Bros. breathing down your neck).

Gonna check it out. Thanks.

Wrong. Any polls regarding approval of the new suit are met with overwhelming approval. This site's "trunks" poll (which shows that even a minority of people here think the trunks should be mandatory) was put in place before the suit was even revealed. Now that we have a suit without trunks that looks great, I'm guessing you'd see a huge swing in the "trunks" poll if it were started over.

Thanks, but there are tons of MUCH better sculptors out there than me.

I do have more Superman sculpts on my blog though if anyone wants to check them out:

You're far too modest but your work speaks for itself. Am I right in thinking you were Superdude on the Planet? If so I admired your work back then and even more so now. I'm desperate for a decent George Reeves and it'll be interesting to see how yours turns out when it's painted. He seems to be a difficult likeness to capture. I have a few 1/6 customs but none is that good unfortunately.

:applaud:applaud

You gotta be kidding me, you are awesome. That is some awesome work. In my opinion, any of those sculptures look as good as any of the professional ones. You capture expression very well. That is awesome!

Dave, those are incredible! I might have missed it but did you say what material you are using for these sculpts? How about the bases, what do you make them from?

Dude, I think I remember seeing you post some of those over at BlueTights/The Planet! Most of those of I've not seen before. The Jim Lee-based one is incredible. Hell, all of those look incredible. I love how you've accurately captured the likenesses of so many different versions/portrayals/incarnations of Superman. Wonderful work.
