Wow.... k I love this.
Strange... if they were willing to go balls out classic on the suit, I wonder why they didn't just do this in the first movie
I've got a few ideas.
1. to differentiate from Raimi's (unfortunate as that may be)
2. as an origin film, hoping to make it look more amateur, less professional.
3. to instill the exact sense of novelty we are all feeling looking at it and make children buy new toys.
4. all the complaints fans had about the "honeycomb" design, the shoes, the lack of belt, the yellow eyes, etc. (none of which came from me btw)
5. If they are starting a huge universe franchise (like we all hope they are doing) they want it to epitomize Spider-Man and become the image we all think of when Spider-Man comes to mind. Easier with a classic suit.
I assume the crew looked at all those reasons and figured... what the hell?
plus its just different enough from Raimi's and just similar enough to ASM1, and it pretty much takes into account the design of every great Spider-Man artist who ever lived. Practically perfect in every way.
