It's amazing seeing how many prefer the first reboot suit
It's unfortunately sad seeing some dislike the more classic look

From what I've seen it's more disliking that they have done the classic design in a similar fashion to Raimi's version, rather than going classic and keeping with the materials they used for TASM.

I'm sure there will be a few who do prefer TASM's fussy design over the classic one, but that's like preferring piss to champagne (imo).

I know this is my first post in forever, couldnt even remember my old login info from years ago, but ill say, the ASM suit grew on me and thought it looked great on screen, this suit while comic accurate seems to go against the "realism" they were going for in the first. It looks too, "flimsy" ? I also never thought id miss the sneakers, but the boots just dont make sense currently in the world they have created. That said, The new suit IS closest to the comic we have been, the seeming reuse of the raimi texture pattern is puzzling though and does seem like a bit of a step back.

Why is it unfortunate?

In a lot of ways, I felt the TASM suit improved on aspects of the original Ditko design. The only issue I took with the TASM suit was the strips down the legs.

i can understand the internet

make a new suit
"I hate the new suit , like the classic look better, this one sucksss"
then bring the classic look
"I liked the original reboot suit, there is no originality anymore"

And just look at all the negative things said about some other movie costumes after seeing spy shots. Do we really need to dig up the Captain America and Dark Knight threads?

Looks ok but not that great. I said the same about earlier suit but it looked great in the final movie.

One of the many things I loved about the TASM suit is how well the fabric textures worked in the real world. From the images so far of the new suit, I have a hard time taking the new suit as seriously. Especially those huge oversized eyes, which work better in drawn comics than in live action imo. Especially when they established a look that worked so well (again, imo) in the first TASM film. Hopefully I'll get used to it over time.

Well I don't know their reasons for not liking it. If they're comparing it to the TASM one (and not just because the thing was new) then I get it. If it's a constructive reason for it, then ok.

My issue with the Raimi suit was that the red on the arms was WAY to thick, as was the red on the front. I thought that made spidey look 'bulkier'. And the boots where not a strong point IMO. But I still thought it was a good costume.

TASM made the red on the arms and front thinner and sleeker and making the arm strips go in to the gloves in a more dynamic way. And the boots where great due to length and not looking like blocks (TASM2's, with what we've seen, looks like blocks).

This would have been a look reminiscent of Ben Reilly's. Not a bad thing at all, IMO.

Gonna miss those gloves.

What I liked about the TASM suit, was that it was like the definition of sleek. I really wish they would have made a classic costume, but with their stamp on it. I didn't mind that the red line on the arms was thin, same for the waist line. The new suit just made everything wider.

When I first saw the TASM suit from the set pics I thought it looked horrible, but once the movie came out and I saw it on the screen my mind completely changed. I thought it looked awesome and really cool. This new suit kind of looks like a suit you could just buy in a costume store somewhere.
