It's pretty close to what I think that logo actually looks like at the exhibition, based on the blurry photos I used as a source.

After seeing that leaked logo picture...

They're using the blue/purple theme again? I thought maybe they'd do red or something, since blue and purple was used a lot in TDK.

TDK had a light blue, TDKR seems like it'll have dark blue. But yeah... red would've been cool. Doesn't Bane have red eye pieces in the comics?

They used red/orange for Batman Begins already. They only colors would have been green or purple. Green wouldn't fit as there's no riddler in this and purple can somewhat be associated to Catwoman.

That's kind of what I was thinking when I made this teaser concept the other day. Conceptually, I see BB as brown/rust colored metal. I see TDK as blue fire (just look at the opening "bat logo" for each movie). I thought it might be kind of cool to see a purpleish color and associate that with another element like lightning/electricity for TDKR.

One second thought, this is closer...

This is bloody amazing. I don't get how anyone could complain if this is like the official logo. Then again I'm weak for clean and simple artwork. It looks gloriously in all it's glory.

Looks like the dark knight is rising. ;)

Im digging Gary Shandling as Batman.

So I have tryed out the the purple-ish (oh wait ROYAL BLUE ofcourse ;)) tones for my fan art poster.

I'm not totally a fan of it, although I have to admit that I started out with the typical Orange/Red-ish tone and mixed it to purple later on, that might have changed things a bit too much.
Larger version available over at my deviantART.

And here are a few small detailed shots of the 100% reso.

Oh and for the people that have Tumblr, would you be so kind to like/reblog it? Thanks!

Has anyone been able to get a good quality photo of the logo?

I thought they'd use red to represent blood, since Bane will break Batman in half, lol.

I thought purple was most associated with the Joker, but he's not in this one, so does anyone know why they'd use purple for the new colour scheme in the logo?

I would loce to see the purple scheme in TDKR it is gorgeous ....

Because they can do whatever they want. I never associated poop brown with Batman (BB) or blue with the Joker (TDK).

I could see them working with purple for their artwork (posters/banners) etc, but I don't think the movie scheme itself will be purple (like how blue was used in some scenes in TDK).
Whenever I think of purple with film I only think of vintage-like effects or light leaks, and that won't be the case for TDKR, I'm pretty sure of that.

I thought the Dark blue/ Purplish represents the color of the sky during dawn, when the sun RISES, just like the dark knight will RISE in 2012 xD

Remember?
Batman Begins= Orange (What color is the sky during sunset?)
The Dark Knight= Blue (What color is the sky normally?)
The Dark Knight Rises= Dark Blue/ Purple (What color is the sky when the sun rises [dawn]?)
