Sequels The Official The Lizard in Spider-Man 4 thread!

Might I just add on my micro, since I had been asked " Why does he have a name tag?" I think that would be an integral point in the development of the movie. Spidey is chasing after him, not knowing it is Connors, and the name tag falls off, Spidey stops to pick it up and discovers the Lizards identity is, making it much more personal and feeling he needs to protect him know. I don't know though, just spit balling.

Thats actually a really good idea. I can see that happening. I think maybe Peter can walk into Dr. Connors office and finds everything trashed and a window broken and see a needle that was already used and some sort of serum in a bottle. He then can connect that to the Lizard and find out that Dr. Connors is the Lizard.

Regardless of all the villain talk and everything, I think The Lizard will make a great movie villain for Spidey.

I agree
I think he's definitely the next natural step for the movie. They've already established Doc Connors as a character, the fact that he has no arm, and the personal relationship to Peter.

The Lizard wearing Connors' name tag started in the 1994 Spidey animated series. Several action figure versions have also featured the name tag.

While the name tag could be a (rather obvious) clue to Connors being the Lizard in a future Spidey movie, I'm thinking that Spidey should have to use his brains a little more to discover that info, assuming that it's supposed to be a mystery. Plus, the animalistic Lizard would probably not wear the lab coat for too long after the transformation - he'd most likely tear it off himself.

Let's just hope he doesn't look like this!

^ Yeah, for a fan-made costume it's really good. I'm also wondering what's up with the red claws, but aside from that it looks fine.

We'd need something way more advanced for the movie however.

How do you think the face should be done? With CG or a mask?

For close-ups and scenes where Spidey is face-to-face with Lizzy, I'd use prosthetics like an animatronic head. For long shots and action scenes there would have to be CGI. A good combination of both is best IMO.

I would honestly prefer to see the Lizard CG done by WETA or The Orphanage instead of Sony Imageworks, but since we're talking about a Sony film, I guess that's not an option.

I agree, Weta, ILM, Orphanage, etc are all better than Imageworks but like you say, it ain't gonna happen because it's Sony.

Yeah, and I think the prothetics for certain scenes and CGI for certain scenes would work out very well. Sort of like what they did for Venom in Spidey3. Some scenes He wore prothetics and in other scenes He didn't. I also think that the Lizard and Spidey fighting is going to look amazing on Film.

I think Lizard shouldn't be prothetics but animatronics like the dinos in JP.

Oh yeah - the head would have to be fully animatronic. I just mention prosthetics in reference to a possible actor's bodysuit or partial costume that the head might be mounted on for certain scenes.

Agreed. The animatronic head would actually be better for movement of the head, opening and closing the mouth, etc. I'm really looking foward to seeing that.

:liz:

I realized that there was no official Lizard thread on the Sequel boards...
I hope it doesn't get closed, since the Lizard is the most logical villain for a fourth Spider-Man flick
Dylan Baker needs to get a chance to play the Lizard!!
Also, it would make for a great story IMO... addin Kraven the Hunter.

Whatever they're planning for Lizard... hopefully they do NOT let him speak in the film!! I don't want to hear something like "Lizards for World domination!!!" :)

Let's discuss!

agreed.
no way Lizard should talk.
maybe say one or two words, but that's it.
I want him to be the inconsequent, mindless, ferocious beast he was SSM.

I believe Lizard should be the definite villain for Spider-Man 4.

Or maybe when Curt is transforming... and the Lizard is slowly taking over his body and mind... he could say something. That's all! Just a few words... nothing very clever or sophisticated...

The Lizard should, without a doubt, be the Villian in Spidey4. He is defenitley an awesome Villian that has made for great stories in the comics. I also think he's been greatly developed over the past 2 films, so introducing the Lizard should not be a problem at all. There would be amazing battles and if Kraven is in the film, that would make for an amazing story that combines anger, sympathy and more! :liz::up:
