In a way, I'm glad they didn't give a storyline on The Lizard, because the now, if The Lizard is in SM4 (and he damn well better be) the new guy is writing him. And I know Vanderbilt's idea wouldn't have meshed well with whatever weak story they (Laura Ziskin, Raimi, Avi Arad) would have had planned for The Lizard.

As long as they take cues from the fight in the new cartoon, this could be the best sm, action-wise, for sure. I think sm2 holds that crown right now, it's very hard to beat a 1-on-1 duel with twelve limbs, that start on a building, goes to the top of a train, and then ends in it, but The Lizard has a tail, so there. Plus, Spidey will be fighting to hold back against the most animiistic vllain he has, so that will be interesting to watch.

I would love to see the Lizard in Spider-man 4! If the story is accurate it sounds like there will only be one villain. I'm intrigued to see how the plot sustains two movies (Spider-man 4 & 5).

The Classic villains are definitely the best. The Lizard will be the tried and tested Mad Scientist yarn...but hopefully they'll mix it up and not have it too formulaic.

Less romance, less MJ whinging....more Parker/Spidey wisecracks. The original 3 stand alone as masterpieces of the Superhero genre....the pining for MJ has ended with their reunion at the end of 3. Keep it there.

I wouldnt mind MJ as a support for Peter- someone who he comes back to at the end of the day after battles with Lizard. But she isn't as integral to the subplot as she was in the first 3 movies. After all, they ARE together now...that romance storyline is finito. Action and heart without the whinging.

agreed, they are together, simple. people have problems with kirsten, she most likely will come back for continuity sake, and this reduces her role while actually making it more important, all around win if you ask me, good idea arachnid-guy

lizard would be a perfect fit because its like they have been dropping hints that it may happen in the films.... while he may not need to be the main villian i would like to see him as the minor to support kraven being the main villian...they could even throw blackcat in to set up a love interest angle that last into the 5th film

I made these real quick. they're nuthin special and i doubt the lizard would end up looking like this in the movies, but everytime i look at them they make me laugh. my favorite is the fifth one, with the reddish eye.
