if its honestly that important, to everything, then they will just bump it up in the next movie... they seriously don't do anything without her approval

saw it last night, gave it an 8/10.

the first 10 minutes were great, i thought the film was going to be real dark, magic filled fights, and lots of Voldemort...and sadly, 20% of the film was really DARK, hardly any magic worth seeing until the last 20 minutes or so, the Order vs the Deatheaters was cool. and Voldemort was under used yet again...random showings throughout the movie for about 2 seconds each, maybe 3 times, then was in the end for like 3 minutes...comon Voldy needs more screen time...all around the movie was good, the Magic fights at the end saved the movie.

dude, seriously, I have read Book 7 and IT IS important.

I've read book 7 too and that chapter you speak of is very important but the films trimmed it because you can put that in the 6th movie or even wait til the 7th and just put that memory in the chapter with harry and the pensieve. Its not that hard and trust me Rowling collaborates with the screenwriters on all the films, im sure she knew what she was doing with them and plus she would have told them to put it in like she told them to put kreacher back in. Im sure we will be fine.

they trimmed the full scene in post thinking that they had got the basic idea across, and when deathly hallows comes along people will be like oh..uhh contrived plot device? because there was nothing early on to suggest it.

How can they put it in movie 6 pensieve scenes? "Oh harry, before i show you voldemorts next few years, allow me to show you snapes worst memory, why you ask? i dont know, not only is it totally inappropriate to show you a teachers worst memory, but it is also one in which your father humiliates him. watch away harry=D, oh by the way, i must have stolen this from snape since theres no way hed give me his memories."

The memory is seen by Harry again in Deathly Hallows. They could use it there.

Having it just pop up in the last movie will be disappointing though.

I said maybe they fit it some how in the the 6th or 7th movie, would it suck?yes. Will we have it though? yes. I mean come on it can happen, its going to stink no matter what though.

I gave it a 7. Definitely a step up from GOF.

My thoughts in a nutshell -

Daniel Radcliffe did fine, as usual. Course, I always thought he got dumped on too much.

Rupert Grint, for once, didn't annoy me as much as he did in previous installments. About time he stopped with the "I'm so scared I'm gonna s*** myself" expressions.

Emma Watson turned in a crappy performance, as usual. Regardless of whether she's growing up to be easy on the eyes or not, she still can't act worth a damn.

Imelda Stanton was spot on as Umbridge, one of the most obnoxious, annoying sadists in the history of literature.

Evanna Lynch was also spot on, for the few scenes she appeared in. Loved the skipping away bit she did in certain scenes.

SFX, music and action oriented set pieces were fine. Could have used more scenes between Harry and Sirius though, to help drive home the loss, and they should have included Dumbledore telling Harry about the prophecy, even though the prophecy annoyed the Hell out of me.

LMAO!

going to see this tomorrow- I'm really looking forward to it after reading DH

After reading Book 7,
they will regret A LOT for not include the scene of Lily in Snape's remember.

I said that a couple of pages back. Potter wasn't the main part of that memory or the humiliation its calling lily a mudblood that is his worst memory because of its consequences on their relationship. Maybe it sneaked under JK's radar or it will be in half blood prince which is after all named after snape in his school days

After reading Book 7,
Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:

Not really, because it's NOT Snape's Worst Memory in the film - it's James the bully. Even in the book, Harry was more distraught about James bullying Snape rather than Snape insulting Lily. It was a clue in the book for Snape's loyalties in the book series, whereas in a more stand alone film, the bigger message to get across in OOtP was that Harry's father wasn't perfect.

My response really was directed more at spiderboy then you, although i dont mean to offend him either!! I was really just trying to display how they might have stuck themselves in a hole.

I know you guys are just seeing the best of a sticky situation, but i believe the trimming of that memory, might be the first genuine mistake the potter film crew has made.

she can't approve EVERYTHING. Harry's green eyes play a big part too, radcliffe's are brown:o

actually she does...

the green eyes part prob was in one of the books after the movies already started... you cant magically change his eye color...

but she seriously wont let them cut or change anything.... and quite frankly they want her approval

ahhhh Contacts????

I'm pretty sure the FOUR books that came before the 1st movie would have mentioned his eyes.

Dobby's apperence in this movie I think was sort of neccessary since his major death in 7 :(

I was under the impression Rowling had everything planned out since she started writing the series. So, yes, I would say it would have been important then.

And my impression was right.

spccbflo asks: Everything that happens has a meaning, sometimes in a later book. Do you have everything planned out in your head, or do you tie things in as you go?
jkrowling_bn: Yes, it's all planned out, but I still give myself room to have some fun if a good idea
jkrowling_bn: arrives while I'm writing

AND another:

Fry: Is it really true that you've got it [the end of the story] all planned out?

Rowling: Yes, I do know what's going to happen in the end. And occasionally I get cold shivers when someone guesses at something that's very close, and then I panic and I think "Oh, is it very obvious?" and then someone says something that's so off the wall that I think "No, it's clearly not that obvious!"

b****

the most important thing of that remember was Snape calling "mudblood" Lily! In Deathly Hallows that remember is completed. Would be the same if in the next movie they remove the conversation between Snape and Dumbledore in the forest that Hadrid overheard, yes, of course, they could put it directly in Deathly Hallows, but IT WOULD SUCK HARD! because those are clues to make people think, discuss and say: "Wtf... was that?"
