Warner Brothers has not officially confirmed David Yates to helm Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, I suppose final negotiations are taking place or either the WB is prepping a press release for this.

Still, it's nice to hear that David Yates is the second director to direct more than one Harry Potter film... I hope Heyman and the WB were ecstatic with how Yates delivered OOTP and that they're not retaining him simply because he's cheap.

Yeah, I think it's too early to cheer about this, wait till the movie comes out. Maybe WB wanted him back because he's willingly to cut enough of the movie so they can fit another showing in the theater every day.

Well if the trailers are any indication, I think it's a safe bet that they were pleased with how he did with OOTP.

To me, it depends how OOTP is recieved before getting him to direct HBP. Yes the trailer seems to be a positive step to indicate how good it will be, but how many times have we seen great trailers and then the actual movie isn't that great? Quite a lot really. Just wait till then I say.

I really hope Alfonso Cuaron comes back for one of the remaining movies. His Potter work was a stunning piece of work. It would be a shame if we never saw another Cuaron directed Potter movie.

Why does Hermione look weird?

From Mugglenet:

David Yates Confirmed as HBP Director
A new interview conducted by SciFi Magazine quotes Order of the Phoenix Director David Yates confirming that he will direct the Half-Blood Prince film:

"I am doing Half-Blood Prince, and I'm doing it because I love the world, I love the characters," the BAFTA-winning director said in an interview. "I think I have more business with this world and these characters."
We're still waiting for official word from Warner Brothers. David has been rumored for quite some time to be directing the sixth film.

UPDATE: Warner Brothers is giving a "no comment" on the story. However, this story has not been deemed as being inaccurate. More soon!

I hope so, Cuaron could really deliver the drama and darkness, and both are certainly going to be needed in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. But I wouldn't want Del Toro directing it -- he'd turn the film into something much more darker than a PG-13 rating would allow.

I hope that ORDER OF THE PHOENIX is good or else it's going to be hard to get as excited for his take on THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE. That said, the producers track record for bringing on continuously gifted helmers to keep the momentum for the series going strong up until THE DEATHLY HOLLOWS.

I'll wait until I see Yate's installment to cast my vote for the final installment's director.

Oh goodness, I saw a preview for the new HP movie at the midnight premiere of Spiderman 3 last night......it looked SO FANTASTIC!!!

I'm so fidgity for this movie. Something about seeing that preview on a theatre-screen made me outrageously ready for it to come out already!! The whole theatre was sooo excited (probably because it was a theatre full of nerds haha. Yay)

Helena Bonham Carter on Johnathan Ross
The Bellatrix actress from Order of the Phoenix made an appearance on the Johnathan Ross show in the UK this evening. Several visitors have written in to inform us that Helena revealed she only had five lines to say during the entire filming process.

Moreover, two of those lines were cut
. If anyone has a video from the interview, please send it in to tips at staff dot mugglenet dot com!

i saw a new trailer with spidey3... its not the teaser or the trailer online (or the international).. it had some new scenes, and edited a bit differently...

does anyone know if its online yet?

does anyone know if harrypotter(in IMAX 3D) will be 3-d for only 10min like SR or is it the whole movie?

that would be awesome if its the ENTIRE movie.

Why do so many movies now a days have catch phrases like "the end is near" or make a "final stand" and stuff like that.

theres no way harry potter 5 is a final stand in any respect, its more like the first battle..

Well the war begins here and well we have the wizards battle which is the face of Dumbledore and Voldemort which has been what potter book fans have been waiting for in the films.

I decided i don't know if i wanna read the last bookd becaus ei don't wanna know how thw Movie will end. Is that crazy of me.

yeah, it's crazy. you will know the end anyway (everybody will) and the books are a lot more enjoyable than the movies.
