I'll try and hit 300 today. Lex can you offer small versions of those avatars, such as the one with Harry and the others suspended in mid-air?

I sure can, mclay. It'll be waiting for you when you hit your milestone. (:

For anybody closely following this film online...will the brain aquarium be in it? I thought that was one of the dumbest moments in the book and took away from the action by saying WTF!?!?!?!

You can sleep soundly tonight, then. It's been confirmed by one of the people who got to see the early preview that the brain room has been entirely omitted from the film, and rightfully so. I'm pretty sure that we won't be seeing any of other rooms as well, except for the obviously important ones involving glass orbs and a certain veil, as they do not really further the plot along. No need to kill the film's pacing with those scenes.

^Good to hear...I don't know what she was thinking when she was writing that. Will Madame Hooch, Rita Skeeter, or Madame Maxime be in this one? I thought it was quite funny seeing Rita scrapping at the bottom to try and get a story. Sure Madame Hooch had one scene, setting off the Quidditch game but I thought she was a good character. And of course Madame Maxime...is she going to be with Hagrid in the mountains or not? Also, how are they going to handle the mountain mission? Will it just be told by Hagrid or when Hagrid is telling the story, will they do flashback scenes?

I thought they confirmed dropping Rita from #5 months ago, like before production even began.

They did. Both David Heyman and Miranda Richardson confirmed at the GOF premiere that Rita wouldn't be in movie 5 (Richardson said that didn't expect to be asked back for OOTP because of the narrowing down of the book for the movie).

I'm less fussy about having every single thing in the films (in some HP forums, the fans are livid with how POA and/or GOF turned out on film). I used to be like that when SS and COS came out and appreciated the fact that they kept in 90% of the stuff. I then realized with the release of the third and fourth movies that not everything can be kept and I just started enjoying the movies on their own right.

I did enjoy reading OOTP, but there was just so many subplots, detail and digression that I just skip right to the good stuff when I re-read it. I'm happy with most of the changes and/or omissions said to be made (I'm a bit miffed with the omission of the Ron/Quidditch plot, as well as Cho being the snitch instead of Marietta, but it's not that big of a loss). I am interested in seeing how faithful the scenes kept from the book and how the additions/changes compliment the movie.

I'm guessing that the film adaptation of HBP won't bother dealing with the engagement of Bill Weasley/Fleur Delacour and will probably also not bother including Ron's little fling with the Lavender Brown character, since these things have nothing to do with Harry, the title character, especially with all that time constraint stuff. I'm almost surprised they didn't just cut out the whole Yule Ball crap from GOF, but I guess they figured cutting that would piss off too many fans.

Bill/Fleur probably, i doubt Ron/Lavender will be cut. The movies love to play up any tension between Ron and Hermione. That's about as heavy as that "sexual tension" gets between them in the series.

If anything important happens at the wedding in DH, plot-wise, they're going have to at least mention Bill and Fleur's wedding in HBP and maybe have Clemence Poesy and Richard Fish come back for cameo bits. Ron's infatuation with Fleur was hinted at in GOF, and I think they'll play it up in HBP more than Ron's fling with Lavender. I have a feeling they'll play up the Harry/Ginny one more.

*sigh* It seems that Michael Goldenberg was perfect for the Potter franchise. If only they went with him the first go-around instead of Steve Kloves...

I liked Rita...nobody answered me if Madame Maxime will be in it and how they are going to handle Hagrid and her trip to the mountains. I know he gets Grawp...but how are they going to handle him getting there?

they won't cut out that, they aren't stupids.

I wish they would have cut her from the fourth movie as well since they cut the fun parts of her story out, she served no purpose to the story. I actually hate the fourth movie with a passion because it was my favorite book and they messed it up big time, the Quidditch World cup was a let down because it started out so great and then there was nothing but the biggest problem came when they messed up the wonderful and intriguing side story of Barty Crouch Jr. The fifth book I liked but I'm not that attached to the story so I won't mind changes in the movie so at least I should be able to enjoy this one. I just hope in the sixth movie they don't chop up or eliminate Voldemorts backstory because I loved that part.

i don't see why they'd cut that entirely. all it really needs is a quick mention, a nod in that direction, something like that. i don't remember it being terribly important.

wow... Ginny's starting to look a lot cuter then she has been in the past few movies. i didn't she's turn out to be that pretty.

I doubt they will cut Ron/Lavender because that's movie style perfect for building up tension between Ron and Hermione.

It all depends on what happens in The Deathly Hollows as to whether they cut the Bill/Fleur wedding or not. The wedding will take place early in DH and if something significant happens then it probably will be included. I would like to think they would anyway.

Also, Madam Maxine didn't actually appear in OOTP did she? She was mentioned, but you never actually saw a scene with her. Hagrid's Tale was told by Hagrid. Unless they do a flashback scene, which I doubt.

I love that new pic of Filch and Umbridge. It seems as Goldenberg did pay homage to the Marietta being cursed with pimples thing by having a student curse Filch with massive pimples.

The other behind-the-scenes pics are pretty good, but I'd rather have more stills from the movie instead.

Oh, and for those wondering what music was in the domestic trailer, here's the list (in order that they appear in the trailer):

- "Screaming Shaman" - Pfeifer Broz. Music
- "Dream Rise" - Simone Benyacar
- "Percussive Assault" - Pfeifer Broz. Music
- "Reverse Suck" - Simone Benyacar
- "Enchanted Portal" - Magic Box Music
- Epic Score: "Swordmaker's Dungeon" - APM Music/Gabriel Shadid and Tobias Marberger
- "Requiem for Potter 4 No Rise" - Simone Benyacar
- "Transition Rise" - Simone Benyacar

Okay, I'm at my required 300 posts. Now how do I get one of those avatars? I expected it to automatically pop up when I hit the required limit...
