The Official "Trinity" by Busiek and Bagley Thread

I dont think Bagley looked rushed, as a matter of fact I think he does better work than 90% of the industry an he is constantly consistent, so really im glad we got a guy as good as him.

I don't know how he does it, but Busiek has the uncanny knack to make the Trinity extraordinarily boring.

I thought it was a good issue. Sort of lacking, but it's only in mid-arc, so that's pretty well to be expected.

I liked how all three of them dealt with their situations in ways that fitted them. Superman got rid of the Planets by hurling them out into deep space... Diana defeated the attackers with brute, up-close combat... and Batman only needed to stop the hallucination by keeping a steady head through it.

What I find kind of a let down was Bagley's art. I don't like how he draws Batman now, save for a few panels.

You expect mid-arc stories to be lacking? Modern comics have ruined fans' expectations.

Yeah, I'm going to miss the good ol' days when everything wasnt a rip-off of the new CBR design.

I hate how TPBs have sort put this stadard that every story has to be four to six issues.I love done in one stories too.More people should do what Dini is doing on detective.Short simple awesome stories.

yea and most writers seemed to be interested in large grandiose over arching storylines...i too wouldnt mind a few standalone stories or done in one's either

no i havent unfortunately.....i seem to find myself stuck in the cape and cowl rut for fear of wasting money on other types of heroes and the like and end up not liking them..(silly reason i know but its the truth)

You should check it out, it's exactly what you're looking for. And don't get discouraged by the fact that it's a Western comic.

thanks man...and the western concept wouldnt throw me off...im actually very open minded about different settings and genres. my first introduction to Jonah was actually the JLU cartoon and he seemed intriguing ....just never took the time to look into his stories

go for it, it's awesome. Mostly done in one stoires.

Are there trades of this cause then that will be the route i go...Also just for curiosity sake is there a continuity to follow in this book not that it will sway me im just curious

There are trades I believe.

Not really on the continuity question, as it tends to jump around to various stories in his life. Some things are followed up on in later stories, and they mostly take place years later, but it's not really necessary to enjoy the story. All you need to know is he fought for the south in the Civil War, and he died horribly as an old man.

There was a time when a surprise entrance by the JLA was exciting. Now, it's just stupid.

I think my hate for Hawkgirl increases exponentially every time I see her. When did she become the quintessential representative of the JLA, anyway? It seems like anytime there's a guest appearance by the JLA, it involves Hawkgirl rushing in to smash something ineffectively with her stupid mace. God, what a stupid *****e.

Isn't that what she does? Bounce her mace harmlessly off of s*** that should dominate her?
