Hmmm. Wasn't the movie released at the same time in the UK as the US though??

A couple days earlier, I believe.

Odd then that the DVD/BD release would be over a month apart. It does seem like the release will be October as I've seen no news of a UK/Ireland release and it's a bit late now to announce an early September release.

I'm with ya, Bobby. First Class was the best CBM this summer & in the last 3 years. Though its Rupert Wyatt's Rise of The Planet of The Apes that takes the cake for me as best movie of the 2011 Summer season. This was a great year for FOX.

Yeah 20th Century Fox is having a good summer.

But XFC is still better, I didn't like the last scene of James Franco.

Each and every single one of those deleted and extended scenes had better find their way onto youtube.

I don't even know if I want to watch those since they all seem pretty cool. I would love to have some extended training scenes. :(

I am very pissed Fox Isn't putting those on the DVD.I especilly wanted to have the deleted scenes between Xavier and Moira In case I dededed to make vidcaps of Rose Byrne of those.I am surprised Fox Is outting the Children of the Atom Featurette on the DVD but leaving the Deleted scenes only for the Blu-Ray.Some of us don't have over a hundred dollors to get a blu-Ray player. And then spend about 8 to 10 dollors more for films. As far as I am concerned studios are starting to say screw you to those with only a DVD player.

Refurbished Blu-Ray players are as low as 70 bucks now .. if you really want to watch the deleted scenes then go get one. It's all business, if you want something badly then pay for it and studios will make sure you pay for it. As far as I'm concerned Blu-ray discs cost more than Dvds so they should have more content.

Well I enquired about Blu-Ray at both Wal-Mart and Amazon and couldn't find any cheaper than 100 Dollors. And In this economy In the US that Is expensive. The fact remains they are screwing over DVD buyers.

They are also trying to phase out DVDs completely. At my local HMV pretty much everything is 2 for 20$ now. Even DISNEY movies, which have always been notorious for never going on sale. I give DVDs another 3-4 years before they plain stop making them and just keep everything bluray.

You're not getting more content though, DVD's are just getting less. What you're getting on a Blu Ray is pretty what a standard DVD used to have. Studios are stingy bastards.

DVD is an "old technology".

The whole thing about joining the "Bluray club" is no different than when they started to phase out VHS in favor of DVDs.

Hell, when DVDs came out their players were easily in the $300- 400 range.

By comparison, bluray players at $100 isn't that unreasonable.

It's the exact same concept. They want you to convert to the superior product.

Blu-ray is a completely different beast to DVD. As well as having a much higher capacity which limits the amount of extras in the first place DVD is a limited video format that is simply not capable of containing the type of extras modern Blu-rays have.

DVDs are simply a set of digital video clips on a disc with an index file. Blu-rays have a fully functional programming language that allows them to do just about anything and have all kinds of interactive features and extras.

DVDs are old technology and are seriously getting left behind. The sooner people upgrade to Blu-ray the better.
