You should have told her it's because it's just a bad movie from a technical standpoint.
I think most regular movie goers don't check those aspects.

Wednesday totals:
X-Men:First Class - $2,319,163 (-21.9%)

That's a steep drop. What can we expect for Thursday? 1.8-1.9m.
Actually I have noticed that for some movies Thursdays perform better than Wed.
I was checking some XFC reviews on other sites and was noticing how harsh critics are being on GL that is almost embarrassing. I think that would benefit XFC BO weekend a little.
Can't believe that, I asked my friend to go see it immediately, and he did

If you're a fan of the lure, the film fails just as many adaptations of written works fail when they deviate from the source material.
If you're NOT a fan of the lure, it works just fine as an action movie.
The GA is normally unfamiliar with the comics, so Wolverine taking the role of a leader did very little to damage the film's BO. Same goes for Cyke dying and Angel having very little to do. That's why X3 performed well. I keep hearing all this "bad legs" talk but in the end it made as much as Abrams' Star Trek preboot - 3 years earlier yet nobody seems to badmouth that
I don't go into any of these comic book adaptations thinking they'll stick to the books. I just hope for the best possible film. Sometimes we get a winner (TDK) and sometimes we get a swift kick in the nuts (Origins).
Well, i'm not sure how it will effect the B.O. given we still have Super 8 out there . However, I do think its funny that many fanboys dismissed the postive reviews of XFC and are calling it a disappointment , while they don't want to believe that GL is bad even though its gotten overwhelmingly negative reviews.

So far I've gotten five or so people to go see it and a few more wanting to!![]()
Haha love that!
I guess it's hard to talk about legs when a movie opens so massively that it has nowhere to go but down after that. The current state of movies/TV is very much "whenever and wherever you want it" with no waiting. So when something with high interest comes out, you get it right away (i.e. go to the theater immediately) and then you're done with it. Legs only come about out when something really special comes along.
I still remember the TDK summer. I'd be watching the news and they'd announce the BO numbers and after 5, 6, 7 weeks it was still pulling in 20-30 million weekly. Jesus.
I'm hoping First Class can at least make back its own budget Domestically and hit $160 Million. I'd love to see it surpass THOR because its a better film, but it won't make $180. Its a shame quality doesn't dictate profit in this business.
