I don't think it's doom and gloom to say that the celing for this film is going to be around 150 mil. You have to look at other CB movies and see how they performed by comparison, and by that, it's going to be 150 mil or so, and that's not counting that it has some stiff competition.

The big difference between Thor's performance and XFC is that Thor fell right in where the early tracking said it was going to. XFC fell 10-14M below the traking. I don't know what all that means but it did underperform, which to me is sad because it was much better than the last two films.

I think they were referring to The Incredible Hulk, which was good? Not great like First Class but...a good solid flick.

I liked it, would have preferred a gamma bomb instead of a tv show but eh marvel studios, what can you.

I love how Brett Ratner tweeted a link to boxofficemojo to show off how much better TLS did versus FC. Considering what FC was working against following his movie, I'd say they did quite well.

Yes.

TIH took pretty nasty tumbles every weekend following its release.

In a way, TIH and FC kind of suffered from the same problems. Good, better reboots to franchises that have waned because of subpar previous movies.

And X3 had that great weekend mostly based on X2. The second weekend? Not so much.

Granted, neither of them should be tearing into each other at all over how that movie turned out.

Why that dirty little snob! :cmad:

What a classless little nutsack.

I hope that First Class has some good legs. I feel like it might do okay against Super 8 this weekend. I don't think that one will draw huge crowds.

Is Brett working these days? Still making music videos? Someone should send him the Rotten Tomatoes reviews of First Class. :o

Now this movie is going to have Avatar style legs?:whatever: This movie will be lucky to get a 3.0 multiplier because thats just how these type of films perform.

It's getting good word of mouth and the competition this weekend is weak. Do you honestly think that Super 8 is going to open at #1?

Brett Ratner you son of a ***** !

Wait a sec! Brett's latest twit says he loves First Class and congrats to Matt Vaughn.

Well, that's what we're all going to get if people on here keep fussing and criticising First Class when it's a very solid film full of heart.

The X-Men rights won't go back to Marvel, nor will we suddenly get the Original Five, but the studio will care less about quality and just pump out frantic action films with Hugh Jackman hogging everyone else's screentime.

Message to the radical fanboys: Don't say you weren't warned. Well done on your stupidity.

And then Ratner follows up the initial tweet by saying, "I was one of the first in line for First Class and I loved it!"

lol when's Rush Hour 4 coming out, Brett?

I can't believe it took Brett Radner's twitter to get me out of hiding.
I'm stunned at how asinine he was, so to make good box office means he made a good movie?

Making this much box office should be in itself a miracle considering its a prequel, no big name stars, and set fifty years ago.

When I first saw the previews, I was UNDERWHELMED. Doing a prequel about the two oldest X-characters in the Xfilms didn't seem to resonate. I'm sure that the folks who didn't buy tickets felt the same way and stayed away.

Watching it, OMG, I had the same feelings as folks who loved this film. That the producers/writers/director CARED about the story and a well-plotted film. That I was blown away by Fassbender's Erik, and made me care enough to go, who is this actor and backtrack is past work?(had no idea he was in 300) I knew McAvoy would be a great Charles but Fassbender just blew me away. I just want to twitter the hell out for this movie and pimp Fassbender all over. I only hope for the best for this DAYUM FINE talented actor.

As a comic reader, I swore I wouldn't like X-Men in when it came on film 11 yrs ago. But I simply loved it and acknowledged it was movieverse. I then felt the same with XMFC.

Kudoes to an entertaining film. I Felt so dayum blessed to have seen FC.

Brett's next tweet: why now suck up?

Haha if Ratner had even one brain cell, he would understand that the underwhelming box office is partly his fault.
