I also like Vaughn, and if I were in charge of Marvel Studio I'd ask him to shoot other Marvel superhero movies, if he's not tied with future FC sequels.

I'd like him for Cap 2. I don't expect Johnston to be back since Cap 2 seems like it'll be a modern day movie and Johnston excels at period pieces. Vaughn on Captain America in the modern day in Cap 2 is something I'd love.

Johnston'd be good if they do a "Untold Tales of Cap in WWII" kinda movie in the future. But I don't think I'd want him on a modern Cap movie.

I think I read that some of them were actually posting reviews today!

I want Vaughn to stay right where he is. I don't want another Fox vs. Singer for the next X-Men film. Keep everything together this time, Fox.

Yeah, him staying put for now is probably for the best.

I can already see it now, Zoe to Vaughn 2 years from now: Kiss my black a$$!

Of all these supposed Easter Eggs(don't know any...please don't spoil here), but if I hear or see anything foreshadowing Sentinels

:awesome: I will smile so hard that my friends will think I'm on drugs.

I'm sorry, but you're losing this battle.

That's what you think.

A studio isn't some constant singular entity, either...and I don't think any of us truly are experts in how much these studios know about their properties and it may not even matter in a lot of cases.

Well of course I was refering to how the studios have been behaving in the recent past as a basis for where they stand relative to each other on this. Obviously if they have a shake-up and new management comes in it could very well signal a change in how their execs know how to manage these properties. Still doesn't change the fact that as of now some understand these properties better than others.

I'm willing to change subjects on the condition of "agreeing to disagree". :woot:

Whatever floats your boat.

In my opinion Marvel Studios just likes to play it safe. All there movies carry the same formula and have the same light-hearted tone.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels this way. It's a "Marvel Method" of movie making. There okay movies are held together by really good performances but when the story falters too much, like Iron Man 2, the performances can't save it.

I wish they were visually distinctive at least.

Not hating though, cause most studios can't even make two successful films back to back, let alone three.TIH aside.

Because of Marvel Studios, Iron Man and Thor are now going to rank up in popularity and such as much as Spider-Man, Hulk, Batman, etc.

If GL is successful, Green Lantern will become a top tier player too.

I think I read that Marvel had offered Thor to Vaughn, but he backed out of it. Would've been interesting to see his take on the Norse god, though, but I really like Branagh's direction.

What I heard was that Vaughn's take on Thor was too costly and ambitious for an unproven character. And they were probably right to risk less. You only get one shot to make a 1st impression and all that.

Untill First Class Is out my rarkings on best Comic Book films(Marvel and DC)
are this

1:Tie between Superman,X2,Batman Begins,and The Dark Knight
5:X-men
6:Batman Returns
7:Batman
8:Superman II(The Richard Donner Cut)
9:The Incredible Hulk
10:Iron Man

I like the Director's cut of Daredevil a lot and Iron Man just beat It to get on
my list. With Spider-Man films the first Is best to me.Spider-Man 2 Isn't bad.But neither one can hit X2 or X-Men to me.Sam Rami made too many
changes for me and gets away with no critism for It.Making villians split
personalities and I hated how Peter Parker only had eyes for Mary jane.If he couldn't be with her he had no Itrest with women.Plus SPider-Man was way
too accepted by Public.Let's not even get Into Spider-Man 3 having Sandman misunderstood and being real killer of Ben Parker.

A problem I had with Iron man 2 was untill Nick fury showed up Robert Downey JR was basiclly playing himself and not tony Stark. Was It really necssary to get someone as famous as Michey Rourke In Iron Man 2 when anyone could have done It.With Thor he was powerless way too long for my taste.I wanted to jump through the earth scenes. The Asgard scenes was when It came alive for me.

Marvel studios does not crap gold.Joss Whedon Is major reason I am looking forward to Avengers and the fact he did unredited rewrite on Captain America makes me hopeful on that

Whedon's always been the biggest question mark for me on Avengers. The man has literally done nothing that I've even remotely liked prior to it so I'm keeping my fingers crossed and trusting the studio more than him on it all.

''And get this: the movie is awesome.

Like, really, truly awesome. Big, fun, great looking and with wonderful characters played by cool actors – X-Men: First Class is everything you kind of hope a superhero movie would be when they started making these things. It’s a film that embraces the goofy fun of Silver Age comics while taking itself exactly seriously enough. In a lot of ways it has a Grant Morrison vibe, a feeling of pop adventure fun (although without Morrison’s trademark weirdness).
''

Well I disagree with this reviewer's comments on X-Men and X2.Considering how much
I dislike Grant Morrison's run on X-Men I am going to let the Morrison go.But he IS making a mistake bringing up Emma Frost to the Emma In Wolverine. And by know we pretty much know First Class Is only connected to X-Men and X2.

devin needs to make up his mind on twitter he compared it to claremont lol

marvelrobbins,

Agree with you. For a lot of us, Wolverine's not in continuity whatsoever...and think Singer and Vaughn decided that a long time ago.

Re: the previous X-men films: But they’re not particularly good; a recent revisit to X2 left me actually stunned at how bad the film is. There are a couple of strong sequences, but the movie in general feels half formed, cheap and poorly put together.

ugh Devin pisses me off sometimes. :cmad:

A lot of Devin's stuff leaves me like  so I don't really concern myself with his opinion too often.
