I think I read that Marvel had offered Thor to Vaughn, but he backed out of it. Would've been interesting to see his take on the Norse god, though, but I really like Branagh's direction.
Rendition, but it wasn't good either. Better than Wolverine anyway (not much needed to succeed in that though...)Gavin Hood had never done a true studio film before.
TDK and IM are very good, but they don't have much re-watch value. I've seen both twice, and don't really crave to see them again any time soon... X2 and SM2 in the other hand I've seen countless times.I love X2 but I don't think it is as good as TDK, SM2, or IM...imo. Iron Man is a pretty damn good movie and RDJ was fantastic.
We haven't gotten to the name-calling yet!Aw c'mon, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Welcome to the hype!
Don't be an X-Men Origins: WolverineWe haven't gotten to the name-calling yet!

Welcome!I agree with you completely that TDK is an abomination; a totally overrated boring, pretentious, fantasy devoid, intelligence insulting, piece of crap.

Exactly! I am hard on X3 as an X-Men movie, but I do think there are several good ideas in there. Jean and Xavier's battle was done well and scored perfectly. There are some beautiful shots in the forest rally scene. Haha I liked Kitty outsmarting Jugsy.People who dislike TDK tend to get caught up in hyperbole. It's a natural backlash because the movie is so popular.
But really, we should reserve the term "abomination" for movies that deserve it. Like Halle Berry's Catwoman.
Back on topic, I think people are too hard on X3. It had some good ideas, a few awful ideas, and overall made a decently entertaining movie that missed the mark. Wolverine, howerver, sucked.
I have really high hopes for First Class. I haven't seen anything that makes me think it isn't going to rock. We need more reviews!
X3 did have one amazing score, and great SFX, but that's about it
