Loved this article! So glad Carrie - and Leia - have been allowed to age naturally within the SW universe. She looks like an actual 59 year old woman. So lovely to see in this day and age in Hollywood!

The final lines are Maz Kanata. I'm still not sure the "Who are you" one is Maz, I think it might be Phasma. Leia does not speak in the trailer.

There's a sexist trait I've seen over and over again within the SW fandom when it comes to Carrie Fisher. It's all spelled out in the snide and shady comments made about Carrie's age and looks, and I really don't think it's nice or respectful at all. People look at Harrison and act all like "He's back. He's still that scoundrel we all love! Seeing an old Han Solo is so surreal!" BUT anything having to do with a modern-day Leia and people are quick to say "She's so old! Look at all that Botox! She looks awful....."

Come. On. Is Carrie supposed to stay young forever? Are any of us? She looks just fine and we are extremely lucky she's even still alive to be in this for us. She's such a talented and hilarious woman and it annoys me to no end when I see the very fans that love Star Wars only appreciate Leia as a young, feisty, sex bot and dislike her as an older wiser woman.

ANYWAY great poster. Her earrings look cool. And I love her hair. Her poster is actually my favorite one of the character posters released because her face isn't covered by an object. Kylo Ren's is by far the laziest. I wish we had full body character posters instead.

Mine's Rey's. But Leia's is a close second. I to like that they've not tried to hide the fact that, yes Leia does age and there's nothing wrong with that. It may sound kind of corny, but I'm hoping that the green bits signify that she's some kind of big-shot military/political figure and that her intelligence/leadership skills are her weapons (since all of the other characters are wielding weapons on their posters).

Is that really even true? I know Campbell said it, but I'm waiting to actually see it happen. I don't mind there to be less focus on slave Leia, but to completely remove it doesn't make much sense. True, Leia's focus has been that outfit over the years so I get why and I support it not being the ONLY thing about her. Yet you can still have that and balance it with the other looks where it's still possible to not make Leia just look like a sex object. It's still an iconic part of the OT and shouldn't be completely covered up.
