It is clearly obvious to this viewer that, upon repeated viewings, everything that happens after Bruce makes his unroped "leap of faith" is... a dream.
Bruce never made the jump. The city's recovery, the "happy ending for everyone"... it's all just a vision that Bruce sees before he dies in a crumpled heap on the floor of the prison.
If you look quickly, you can see Dom Cobb in the big crowd scene. He is clearly working with his partners Arthur, Eames, and Prof. Stephen Miles to plant the idea for Wayne to sell majority shares to another board member.
It's too bad that Mal has to get in the way and potentially ruin everything.
