Capcom The Resident Evil Thread

I don't know if I'm picking this up from the get go like the week of release. Playing re4 to 6 back to back made me exhausted. Like Ive never played re games back to back before even in the ps1 days and I just realized these games aren't that fun to play lol. Like I remember when I was a kid I would only play them during weekends because I was terrified to play it alone. I was going to pick up re1 remake and zero next as those two are the ones that I have yet to play... but then I watched a walkthrough, it is creepy as **** and re0 has no inventory system. So I ended up playing Ac which is just fun to play so idk. I hope re2 remake isnt that exhausting. When I was a kid, Re2 leon A scenario was the first one that I beat from the trilogy as I never got stuck in that one. With re1, I couldn't figure out the paintings while re3 had me stuck in the clock tower puzzle for ages. Though I later finished them. But re2 was probably my least favorite and I didn't get to finish Claire B as Mr. X was so damn difficult.

Capcom is for some reason embarrassed by Claire's original design in RE2. Any crap will do, but not her actual classic outfit.

Nice little photoshop of how Claire's costume should have looked.

it's more of weird mix of that & see poster on comment ares' comeplaing on how they wanted to see clare in her dasiy duke's or what some called short short which start weird arguments when other called them pervs. so they went a weirder rout with the old look. I don't want touch the subject further. but I'll pm you an link of what I mean if you ask . it doesn't help there people out there that do that though. some people need girlfriends or other wise but then again there's reason why they are alone I guess.

The Resident Evil 2 remake has Capcom taking fans of the iconic survival horror series back to Raccoon City. Not only does Resident Evil 2 take fans back to the iconic Raccoon City police Department, but it is also taking the series back to its roots; which had almost become an action series in some of the more recent entries.

This new rendition of the game, however, is not a carbon copy of the original. While some of the locations are exactly where longtime fans expect them to be, the Resident Evil 2 remake changes things up just enough for players to experience the original game with a few tweaks that will have longtime fans excited to revisit the unforgiving RPD station.

Thanks to the upgrade in graphics, Resident Evil 2 will allow players to experience the same story with cutscenes that expand on the narrative seen in the original. Some scenes that were just "there" in the original, are now crucial parts of the story, and in today's video uploaded by PlayStation, we see the PlayStation Underground crew playing through Claire's campaign as she runs into a few familiar faces, as well as a lethal Licker.

Take a look:

The genre-defining masterpiece Resident Evil 2 returns, completely re-built from the ground up for a deeper narrative experience. Using Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine, Resident Evil 2 offers a fresh take on the classic survival horror saga with breathtakingly realistic visuals, heart-poundingly immersive audio, a new over-the-shoulder camera, and modernized controls on top of gameplay modes from the original game.

Resident Evil 2 will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 25th of January in 2019.

I’m going to enjoy reliving this. RE2 was when I was most into RE.

That "classic" outfit design makes less sense than the original outfit. She's trying to locate her brother, not seduce a guy.

Re3 (2021)
Recv (2023)
Re0 (2025)
Re1 (2027)

The rest, 4 to 6, having played them recently, don't need a remake whatsoever.

yeah but that one has fixed cameras. Thats the one game in the series that they can remake for the 2nd time, especially the first remake came out a long time ago. So why not? Also these remakes are much better than spin offs like Revelations, Outbreak, Chronicles and those other forgotten spin offs. They could release 4 more remakes inbetween the new numbered games (8 and beyond) and keep people interested.

ick. The reboot should start with a proper adaptation of the first game, especially we have yet to get that.

Also re7 is my least favorite from the main series. I'm intrigued about Re8, but if its gonna be a first person perspective game again with the lead character's face being unseen in the entire game then I would be very disappointed.

How much inspiration will he take from RE7 though?

As far as remaking RE3 goes, I hope that they remember that Jill in that game has some fantastic stamina, speed, and flexibility.

I just cannot wait to see it being redone from the ground up. What I liked about Re3 is the ability to explore Raccoon City (hospital, post office, bar, parking areas, fire station, gas station, police station, restaurant, etc...) instead of being stuck in a mansion/building that lead to underground areas.

Anyway, I was excited about Re2 remake but I realized that this game would just exhaust me, so I'm thinking waiting for a few months before picking it up.

Everything looks great, except for that goddamn filter with elevated blacks and muted colors. Original game had bright colors and good contrast, and it didn't impact atmosphere in any way. But it looked just more impressive. More "real".

This is why I want Re1 want to get another remake. I don't like muted colors of it.

Ada Wong Faces The Unstoppable Mr. X In The Latest Extended RESIDENT EVIL 2 Gameplay

According to Capcom, the upcoming remake of Resident Evil 2 won't be faithful one to one, giving players that already played the cult classic title a chance to experience something new and fresh. While some things will definitely change, Mr. X will still be the main reason you will need to change your diapers during your Resident Evil 2 playthrough, as he's back, bigger and more determined than ever.

Thanks to YouTube user Carmen Stoker, we have a chance to check out the mirrored gameplay video from Resident Evil 2 that spotlights the game's three protagonists - Claire Redfield, the younger sister of former S.T.A.R.S. member Chris Redfield, Leon Kennedy, a federal agent for the D.S.O., and Ada Wong, a spy for Umbrella's rival company who is sent to recover a sample of the deadly G-virus.

Considering that Capcom has hired an army of developers that includes a massive 800-strong team to remake Resident Evil 2 (to show you the scope of the remake, about 600 developers worked on Resident Evil 6, as the original was made by less than 50 devs), it probably shouldn't be surprising that Resident Evil 2 looks absolutely gorgeous and you can see it for yourself down below:

Mr. X is scarier here than he is in the original. Changing his walking pace without ominous music is a different form of terror that seems more effective.
But I shouldn't forget the limitations of a system three generations and over 21 years old.

So i have a question for the Resident Evil fans...would you support a Reboot?
I follow the whole resident evil franchise mainly from the outside and it seems to me that a reboot would be a great idea right now.

Starting right at the beginning again to even out the timeline, rework stuff that didnt work and so on.

Of course not after this remake but i think after remaking RE3 with the formula of RE2...if that works.

Do fans think a reboot would be needed or can the series continue with the timeline it has?

Before that is even cogitated, I want them to conclude the current timeline. It just irks me when something is left unfinished.

Still, I can't imagine a reboot.
