Capcom The Resident Evil Thread

People have had powers in RE for at least two decades now. As long as there's some kind of in universe fake science explanation for it
No i meant the protagonist having a "special power".

Like sure they could give that fantasy angle to the neXt lead villain, but I don't want to control a character shooting magical powers from her hands in a Resident Evil game.

Special powers are...pretty much everywhere in Resident Evil. Krauser can turn his arms into freaking swords and shields.

And I don't want that for a Resident Evil protagonist. Krauser stayed as a 1 and done boss character, though he later appeared in Darkside Chronicles but that was a side game.

I actually would want that honestly. Playing as Krauser in Mercenaries was incredibly fun, having mutated powers would be the icing on the cake for me.

Resident Evil has been consistent with their leads to be not super powered and mostly just relied on weapons to defeat enemies. So I hope they keep it that way.

Mercenaries is a side feature.

It's funny we are talking about this because I thought up a Resident Evil spinoff that was about a character gaining power mutation powers. Akin to stuff like Guyver and Alex Mercer from Prototype.

I called it Resident Evil: Mutations.

They mostly use it for puzzle solving in the Rose DLC. I'd imagine that wouldn't change too much. All I'm saying is I would keep an open mind, I would bet money we're spending a large portion of the next game as Rose Winters.

My brother made a return to gaming after 20 years to play RE2 remake. He kinda sucks lol, but is enjoying it. Great looking game alright.

Capcom really frustrate me though. They're mostly making fantastic updates to their classc titles, but they totally crapped the bed with 3. That seems so nuts to me, Nemesis reuses things from 2, so it gave them a head start compared to the others, yet they still gutted it. Will probably skip over and go straight to 4 next.

Capcom still falls victim to making sure they have a big game in Q4.

OG or Veronica are popular picks. I'm slightly in favor of OG but I'd take either of them or Zero.

They probably should remake Resident Evil 1 neXt. Because out of the remaining numbered games, its the one that needs it the most. Resident Evil ø too, but we know thats a prequel game, and the newer gamers probably should witness 1 first before seeing Rebecca in her own game.

Code Veronica is the only *main* game that, if I'm not mistaken, has no modern physical formats, and once I get Re4r and Village, it would be the only main game (again) missing in my collection. But since its not a numbered game, it doesn't really matter if Re4 was remade first. However they should remake it before Re5, for chronology purpose of Chris' story.

Whatever remake they go with next. They need to keep the melee combat from 4. I don't want to be completely helpless if I'm grabbed or crowded by enemies.

If they remake 1 and Code Veronica, I hope their mansion has their lights on.

Some of the hallways of the police station in re2/3 were so dark, it was terrifying! Especially with zombies popping out of nowhere.

Isn't that kind of the idea? :D
I get the idea.

But I also like to look at the interior design. I can't really do that when I can't see much in the darkness. For eXample, I really liked the interior design of Resident Evil 4 remake when the bulbs weren't busted and I can see the details within the castle.

I did the survey. Can't hurt right? For what game I'd like to see remade next, I wrote the rest of Resident Evil 3, lol.

They aren't gonna remake it lol.

But yeah more Re3r distain coming to Capcom the better. They had 1 chance to remake an iconic game and they blew it.

Maybe in 2050, when videogame graphiX are 100% the same looking as the real world, we would see a faithful remake for Re3.

Nah of course not ha, but in a world of downloadable updates, expansions and patches, they could theoretically add in new content. I have no problem with what is there, throw in a couple more 'levels' and the game would feel relatively complete to me. Had to leap at a rare chance to say something in a survey the company itself put out.

So i finally got Resident Evil Village Gold Edition and its so asinine, that the disc is merely the original base game. I have to still redeem the Gold Edition features from the Ps Store.

The problem is my ps account is an American account, and I don't want to make an Asian account just to redeem the Gold Edition features that I already paid for. Capcom already pulled this lazy stunt with Street Fighter V Champion Edition and I didn't get to play all characters.

I don't get why the packaging literally says Gold Edition but the new features aren't even included in the disc. When I redeemed the code, its region locked. That is just so lazy of Capcom and I hate it.

So I guess I'm gonna play Village, in first person. The f....ng horror.

In comparison to other "special/complete edition"s I bought. Ghost of Tsushima, Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition and Horizon Zero Dawn had everything on the disc.

I'm tempted to buy RE4R neXt, but its going to look weird when I have TWO Resident Evil 4 in my shelf.

I finished RE7 the other day. Overall I'd say it was ok. I prefer 4 and 5 still. But it did have its moments that had me plenty scared. Although I did figure out the twist Eveline before it was mentioned.

For me the scariest part was during Marguerite's house section but it wasn't the boss fight. There were rooms I couldn't see anything and there were two creatures that I couldn't shoot because it was so dark. That was terrifying.
