Just a reminder, I'm willing to do a short term ballot. So, if you have a game you'd like on the ballet, and you have at least 8 people interested, pm me a link to your Application thread. I'll put it up Sunday or Monday, and let it run for 7 days.



Also, I was thinking we could use a stickied thread called "Current RPG Games and How to Make Your Own" or something.

The first post would list all the long term, than short term games, names being links to the OOC threads, with a one sentence description. Like:

One Universe Season V
A game where the DC and Marvel Universes are blended into one

The second post would have the rules for putting up a game application.


Maybe have a third post explaining how the short term games work.


And that's it. The thread is locked so there's no chance of the posts being lost.

Oh wait... Like dis? It's a bit outdated but it's locked so I'm unable to change it.. and if MB sticks his fingers in there I might yell 'RAPE!'

Unfortunately, no one reads that thread. I didn't even know that was there. Maybe it needs a better title.

First, rename the help thread from "The Hitchhikers Gude to Roleplaying" to something helpful. Then this can be the new first post because this is what new players are going to want to see most.

​


Currently, we're only accepting short term games that will last only a single season over a period of a few weeks to a few months. If your game is successful, you can apply for another season. And, if the premise of the game fits, we'll consider putting it on the long term game list where no further applications are needed for each season.


Create a new thread for your game in the Hype RPG Games Approval Forum with the following RPG Application

Name of the new RPG:

Screenname of the Proposed RPG’s Game Master:

Do You Have An Instant Messenger that we can reach you on for better conversation? (i.e MSN, Yahoo, AIM, ect.) And if so, what is your screenname?:

Gamemasters/Assistant Gamemasters already chosen:

How will the overall layout of the RPG be?:

Premise of RPG, if it is a user created RPG see below for applicable additions to this Applicaton, (Must be a paragraph or longer).

What will this RPG bring to the RPG forums? (please write two complete sentences):

Title Of The RPG You Would Like To Propose:

Example Of Characters Application:


Additional items needed if applicable to type of game

Classes within RPG (if applicable):

Character Races within RPG (if Applicable):

Twy did an awesome job. If there's anything I've learned from work, it's that people are dumb until they prove otherwise, and maybe not even then.

So, make instructions as simple and word free as possible...then dumb it down another 10% just to be safe.

Rules based on stuff we discussed in the last round of rule development. I probably left a bunch out. So remind me what I'm missing.

Rules of the Games

  • General Rules
    • PG-13: Nothing against SuperheroHype! Forum rules
    • No by-passing the SHH censors
    • No flaming
    • No multiple screen names
    • Players can be in no more than 5 different games at a time without approval of the GMs
    • Don't play like this is a fanfiction
  • Game Rules
    • Character Specific games are not allowed
    • Games need one Game Master and at least 2 Assistant GMs
    • New games will not be approved without an application thread
    • New games will not be approved without at least 8 interested players
    • One new game will be approved each month in a vote by the players
    • First come, first serve in applying for characters
    • Don't 'bunny' without permission
  • Be Courteous
    • Please be respectful towards each other
    • Respect each others creative property
    • Players, Respect your Gamemaster
    • Gamemasters, Respect your Players
    • Respect your Game
    • Have Fun!

Terminology

  • Bunny - using another player's character
  • IC - In Character posting
  • OOC - Out Of Character posting
  • NPC - Non Player Character
  • PC - Player Character
  • GM - Gamemaster, game moderator and authority

This all looks good to me.

Except that stuff about limiting us to five characters! :cmad:

Give me 26 different characters to play, or give me death!

....Preferably 26 different characters. What's that? You're all out of 26 characters? Death or death? I'll take cake.
 
What I was trying to say is that if you already have 5 characters, the GM of the game you're applying for will need to sign off on more.

Basically, it's ok for a GM to say no if they feel you have too many characters already.
 
I suggest adding something along the lines of "NEW MEMBERS PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING" in the title of the thread.
